Towing with an '06+ ML350

I have a 2007 ML350 with the factory hitch, and was thinking of using it for towing my race car. Trailer and car would be around a 4700 Lbs. load. Anyone have any experience towing something heavy like this with the new generation MLs? Any tips on an electric brake controller?

Also, does anyone know what the difference is from the 2007s to the 2008s that increased the towing capacity from 5000 Lbs to 7000 Lbs.?
