I have a 2007 ML350 with the factory hitch, and was thinking of using it for towing my race car. Trailer and car would be around a 4700 Lbs. load. Anyone have any experience towing something heavy like this with the new generation MLs? Any tips on an electric brake controller?

Also, does anyone know what the difference is from the 2007s to the 2008s that increased the towing capacity from 5000 Lbs to 7000 Lbs.?

I had a 2007 GL 320CDI and it was factory rated at 7500 lbs tow. My 2008 GL 320CDI is rated at 5000 lb tow. I'd be surprised if the MLs went the other way but I could be wrong.
