Replacing tail light
Seems kind of silly, but I can't figure out how to take the tail light assembly off to replace the bulb. There are two nuts that hold the rear portion on, but something seems to be holding the forward section. Rather than break it, I'm seeking the sage advice I have often found here.
Thanks in advance! |

The sage advice is to remove the 2 plastic nuts, and there may also be washers under the nuts, then slightly tilt the back of the taillight out, get your finger tips under the light (between the tabs where the nuts were) and pull firmly back on the lense assembly. There is a ball and socket arrangement that help secure the front part of the tail lamp to the body.
At that point, I usually press inwards on the 2 tabs that hold the bulb plate into the lamp assembly, then you can set the tail lamp assembly aside and replace the bulbs. Gilly
