How to program a new key for 2008 ML350
We just bought a new key for the 2008 ML350 (new, from a MB dealer). I recall reading that programming it is:
-Put it into the ignition -Turn to starting position -Wait a couple of minutes for the programming to happen -Remove programmed key Is that right? Any indication when it's done?

Do you have the Keyless Go option?

I don't know. She asked if it was available when she bought the key and they said it was the only key for the car, but never actually said if it was included; I'd kind-a like to have it, is there a way to tell? Does it make a difference for programming?

If it has the square black buttons on the exterior door handles, it's Keyless Go. If it is KG, the new key may require programming with SDS. If it's not KG the new key should work right out of the box.

The front drivers door handle has the button, but all other doors do not. Attachment 4057 and 4058 are the drivers-side-front door handle, 4059 is drivers-side-rear and all other door handles. Does that mean I have keyless-go?

Thanks for posting the pic's. Your ML is not equipped with KG. The black thing next to the keyhole is an infra-red receiver.
If your new key works (lock, unlock, tailgate, alarm, engine start) then you're good to go. Let us know if you have any problems. |
