Do ML torque converters fail? 1999 ML320

Has anyone ever heard of a torque converter failure on a ML320?
My high mileage (211,000 mi.) '99 ML320 is going to take me across the country for Thanksgiving and I have relieved my worries about transmission failure by purchasing a used transmission to bring along. Is there any reason to bring the heavy used torque converter too? Thank you!

I would say that is one of the LEAST likely items to ever fail!

torque converter interchangability

Thank you for advising that they are solid. Is there a way I can check to confirm that a torque converter out of my current transmission, 16327022000101254808 240, will fit in my back-up, 16327022000097148402 240? Thanks again!
