ML320 Throttle

I think that I have read something about this before but I am having continued problems with my throttle on my 2000ML320. THe throttle feels like it is sticking under my foot, the power production is smooth but the pedal itself feels like it is moving in a series of stages instead of a constant smooth motion. The throttle has been replaced once before and this remedied the problem temporarily. The throttle didnt stick when the car was new nor again when the throttle was replaced. I took the car in complaining of the problem again and was told that this was not a defect, that it simply was the result of wear, although the car has only 48000 miles so each throttle pedal has only half that. I think that I was given a huge pile of bs and felt pretty insulted. They told me I could speak to the regional rep but I have a feeling that he will feed me more of the same . Has anyone out there heard of or had these problems? I would like if a mechanic could comment on the validity of the "just wear" statement. Thanks a lot yall. Jonathan

Try a different dealer. It doesn’t stand to reason that if they will replace a part 2x due to it being notchy and then refuse to do it a 3rd time. BTW, my ML had the same problem and the dealer replaced the pedal and the subsystem that goes with it. Another solution is to find out what is used to lube the mechanism and where and do that.
