I’m having problems removing the steering coupling. I already removed the top and bottom nut and bolt however I can't get the coupling sliding up enough to get it completely out of the steering pinion. Any help would be welcomed.

I don't know this car specifically, but you probably need to unbolt the rack and move it. Unbolting the steering column is possible but generally more difficult.

What year ML320 are you referencing? W163?
