Engine heater on MLs?

From the manual, it says that there is a pre installed engine heater on Canadian MLs and you can buy a harness/plug from dealerships. I am wondering if this would also apply to US MLs. Or if it is possible to find the part and retro fit it on a US ML? Anyone has done this?
