ML window switch removal

Hello! Long time Benz owner but first post here. We purchased a used 1998 ML 320 and were prepared for some updates! The passenger rear window will not work and I have followed the posts about removing the entire switch panel, but can't get the wood to lift up. It seems way too tight and it appears that it could be damaged if I apply what I think will be enough upward pressure to remove it. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

ML window switch removal

Thanks Myarmar, This is the info I have read, I guess I don't have the guts to pry up. However unless some one has glued the thing down it seems this is the only way. Will try this afternoon again.

Don't pry it up, push it from the bottom. You can use mirror to see the clips there.

I used a firm putty knife wrapped in cloth to pry it from the top at the corners. Be careful if you try prying from the middle because the cross piece is plastic and my snap. Mine popped right up from each corner. Good luck.
