Can anyone advise if there is a separate device on a 98 ML-320 engine that compensates for idle speed?
For instance, when the AC compresor switches on while the engine is idling, is idle speed regulated by a separate valve or solenoid or is all fuel management strictly handled by the engine computer operating through the fuel injectors. Thanks. |

It's integrated into the engine control (ME) control module. Primarily, it's controlled by a part called the throttle motor.
