ML320 power window problem

Hi,
I have read up on many of the previous posts regarding problems with the window switches in the ML's but I am not completely clear that my problem is with my switch.
My drivers window is symptomatic of needing a new switch in that the window is jerky when rolling it back up BUT my right passengers side window will go down then won't go back up at all. I tried using the drivers switch as well as the switch for the passengers on the back of the console. Neither will roll the window back up. In every case that this has happened I come back (overnight, or sometimes even two hours later) and the window will roll up with no problem.

Gilly---Any ideas? I am baffled on this one.

Thanks for you help once again!

Window Switch..

This is a very common problem with the ML.. Its your switches that are defective.. I've already replaced it on 4 ML's at my shop.. The problem is you don't just replace one switch like your japanese cars, you have to replace the entire switch assembly.. its actually very easy to do.. just remove everything from the gear shift knob, gear shift cover, coin tray, glove box, cigarette tray, than the wood panel is just clipped on.. and its pretty straight forward after that! just replace your switch with a new one.. and your ML is as good as new..

Tabo-Thanks for the reply. Maybe you can help me better understand because I am still a little confused. When the problem with the back window occurs the rear window switch on the back of the console in the rear seating area won't roll the window back up either.
If I replace the front switch panel how does this address the rear switch not working properly? Should I just try replacing those 2 switches in the rear seating area as well????

Thanks again

Maybe I can make better clarification now that I went back and looked at my original post.
The problem window is the REAR passengers window....I didn't word that correctly in my original post.

Maybe the small safety switch is shut off? It's the small sliding switch, that shows either the "small person" or the white dot. If the "small person" is visible it cuts out the rear switches, the ones on the rear of the console. keeps the kids from rolling down the windows in back and throwing the fudgesicle at the Hells Angels when at the stoplight.
