Question ml 320 hesitation

In the first few minutes of driving, my 1998 ml 320, hesitates during heavy acceleration. After a few minutes of driving it drives normally. It has 56k miles and the 60k mile service has been completed, including the upgraded fuel filter.

Any ideas on what could be causing this cold engine hesitation?

The engine control module. There's a bulletin about this problem.

Gilly,
The MB bulletin states that the problem is "no DTC in engine control module" Is it possible to re-program the engine control module?

As you know replacing the engine control module is very expensive.

It seems that this problem started when I disconnected my battery to change the aux fan wire harness. Is that possible?

Thanks again
Augusta
