Benz ml430 factory head unit stuck..
hey,
im trying to remove my factory bose head unit in my ml430 (2000) and put in my after market panasonic head unit along with my amp and sub. i get the left side off but the right side wont come out. is there any way to remove it? if i took it to my dealer would they remove and install the new head unit for me? has this happened to anyone before? if i pulled it out really hard, would that break my dash? how much would it cost to get a new dash? i came across this removal key for european cars at would you suggest i use those? Yes, use the removal key before you break something expensive! It's only like $10 at Crutchfield, probably lots of other places too.

i have a pair of keys to remove it, but i dont know if it was specially made for european cars. the left side came loose pretty easily, but i cant get the right to budge. i was told if i dont care about the factory head unit, just to pull really hard. but i also heard that if i do that, there is a 50% chance of me breaking my dash. does anyone know where i can get a new dash and how much it would cost just in case i happen to break mine?

get the MB keys from the dealership if you're having troubles. they are not that much money and the wood around the radio is. once the keys have hooked in, the radio should slide out with almost zero effort. really, zero effort.
