Unimog on the history channel

Did anyone see this it was on this weekend I caught about the last 5 minutes of the segment. It's the most versatile truck I've ever seen.

Howdy adiaw83,
I haven't caught it yet You are right about it being the most versitile truck in the world. I have a half dozen books and other materal that show thousands of applications. Truely mind blowing.

the thing that really got me was how easily and quickly it can go from a left hand drive vehicle to a right hand drive vehicle.

Howdy adiaw83,
That's the U 300/400/500 that has the controls that slide back and forth. That feature was aimed at municipalities for side of the road work. Drive to where you are working then slide over so you can see the side of the road or over an imbankment. Also nice if you drive from England to France This is the only model that has that feature. If this is something you just got to have, you can go see a Freightliner dealer and hand him $150,000 USD and away you go If you want something a little more capable off-road you can look at an older model like a 404 for less than $10,000 USD or 406/416 for a litle over $10,000 USD.
