ML320 M1 option?

I have a 2000 ML320 with the M1 option package listed on the warranty history sheet. I have seen on other forums that the M1 option included a trip computer in the overhead console and a lockbox under the passenger front seat. My vehicle has neither but does have the compliment of other features listed in the M1 package. I bought the vehicle used. Is it possible the original owner opted to exclude some of the M1 options

Thanks,

The M1 is the luxury package, as ML320guy pointed out. The M1 required either the regular sunroof or the Skyview be ordered (not part of the M1 package). The M1 package only consisted of leather seats, Power seats (not memory seats), and privacy glass. Ever see a stripped ML without privacy glass? Weird looking. The M1 was only available on the ML320, all this stuff (or better) was standard on the ML430 and ML55

The M2 Convenience package required the M1 package, so of course also required the sunroof or Skyview because of the M1 prerequisite. The M2 package was: Power seat WITH MEMORY on both front seats, safebox, trip computer, autodimming interior mirror with map lights and autodimming drivers side mirror, power folding rearview mirrors. The M2 was only available on the ML320, this stuff I thik was standard stuff for the ML430 and ML55.

There was also an M3 convenience package, which also required the M1 package, which consisted only of the power memory seats and power folding rearview mirrors. It was only available on the ML430, I think alot of the M2 stuff was already included in the ML430, this I think is just minor upgrades to the ML430 standard equipment.

What's confusing is they say the M3 is only available on the ML430, but also list M1 as a requirement, BUT the M1 is only available for the ML320, so what da heII?

The only thing I can add is that I did read that in 2000, an ML320 with M1 and M2 is considered "loaded". The only way I can think of to get it any fancier is add-ons like the MCS upgrades (nav or single CD player) or CD changer or a phone, this was all optional on the ML320 and I believe was all dealer-installed add-ons.
There was also the option on ordering the Skyview roof vs the normal sunroof.
And of course the accessories, MAN! ML owners love their accessories!

Of course Gilly is correct. However, a little more information, if you're interested. Option prices off the window sticker: M1 pkg $1500; M2 pkg $995; 6-disc CD player(Bose Sys. from factory) $1050; Sunroof $1095; Heated front seats $605; Metallic Paint $475 - this for a 2000 ML320.

I purchased mine new with the M1 package...actually most MB dealerships don't stock stripped-down versions of ANY of their models, so this was the norm for the MLs on the lot.

I originally purchased the ML320 with the skyview, but got out-voted by the family when I brought it home. So I swapped it for an equivalent model with the normal moonroof. Both models had the stainless steel brush guard and side bars...I'm guessing these were dealer options and not part of the M1 package.

The salesman told me the difference was $1500 between the two models (skyview vs. moonroof). I used the difference to have the rest of the lower cladding painted to match the body color...and used the remainder (and some additional $$$) to purchase the chrome version of the wheels...
