Same ownership but independently managed.
Greenland is very small. Took my car for pre-purchase inspection and they missed LOTS of very obvious problems. Manchester I would rate OK. Nothing out of this world - probably average. |

NH Dealerships
I would not go to either one of these places unless the car was still under warranty or leased. They thrive and pray on people who do not know anything about cars and will do it with a smile.

The parts people in Manchester are generally helpful and friendly, especially Dona, but stay away from service unless your pockets are really deep and you have lots of patience. I'd echo Bert's comments, above, they really prey on people with more money than car sense.
There are better choices in independant shops...one of which is Amoskeag European in Manchester.

About 3 years ago I bought an e-bay car on a whim that was purchased from and serviced by the that MB in Manchester. '93 300E Sportline. I got it cheap. It was owned from new by a little old lady from Boston area. She had money. It had 252K miles. Always dealer serviced.
After picking up the car, I stopped at a restaurant to review the thick folder of receipts. Unbelievable. $36,000 worth of receipts. Looked like every complaint was milked. New transmission at 150K, new evaporator and all associated goody's, head gasket, wiring harness, it was never ending. Sure looks like they couldn't resist when given the green light to fix it. The last time I was at the Manchester Dealer, I wanted to know what it would cost to get an upshift delay switch replaced on my wife's C280. I got the biggest song and dance from the one of the serviced advisors who was joined by one of the mechanics, who looked like he couldn't get a job at Jiffy Lub, about what a big job this was going to be.
Needless to say, I couldn't hold back the laughter and was almost escorted out the door by some salesman who was better suited for a door job at a strip joint. I have heard great things about Amoskeag as well. If you're further west look at AutoTech in Chesterfield. |
