Question How can I tint the rear tail lamp lenses like this?

I found this picture on the net. I love the tinted lenses, and would like to do this on my S600. Does anyone know how to do this?

You might search on ebay.de for lights like that they have them for 124 and 202, but I think somebody on here has painted their lights. I dont know anything about doing that though.

Ricer shops sell a black tinting spray that creates that effect with minimal loss of illimination. I think it's illegal anywhere they have laws.

Can't find the equivalent in a US store website -

Before doing the "tint" I'd check your local speed shops to see how strict the inspectors are in "your neck of the woods." NJ members have been failed on tinted taillights before, but enforcement can be a hit or miss thing. Consider leaving the reverse light area stock.

As a DIY experiment, there are some spray tints widely used . . . Nightshades, which is rather expensive per can but is available in smoke or red; some tint sprays from Japan; and the small cans of smoke tint from Pactra/Testors that R/C hobby folks use to tint their models windows or canopies.

Thanks for your input everyone. I hadn't thought of the legal aspect of doing something like this. Love the CLK el presidente. When I was looking for a used MB, I was considering a CLK instead of the S600. I love the lines of the car, but the big car won me over.

If you are brave enough to do it... I heard some people use model tint spray and spray the inside of the lens.
