What in the hell is your point?
That this pointless military conflict has cost the US taxpayers yet more money?

It could have just as easily happened in Afghanistan -- you can't blame an entire political party for one individual's psychosis.

Party-Boat Veterans for Truth: "George Bush, when did you stop having relations with that goat?"

That's about as juvenile a statement as I have ever seen.

wmd's aside, do you still think the war is pointless? Is freeing people under an inhumane dictator pointless? I wonder if thats what people in the us thought back in 1938 when hitler was just starting to gain power. I dought many people thought he would actually murder 6 million jews.

Yes, quite unequivocally a pointless waste of resources and human life. If you care to go gallivanting around the globe "rescueing" dudes and dames in "distress", then be my guest, but leave my tax dollars out of your fantasies. I'm afraid I've missed the Hitler analogy--what's the point...oh ya, it's must be a mustache thang.

My personal belief is that if we walked out of there tomorrow the whole place would be better off. The only reason we are there is to keep the Iraqis from doing what they want to do - split into three states, It is our insistance that they be a country that is at the root of all their misery. Since 1920 the US and Britain have supported whatever government, no matter how thugish, that can keep Iraq together. It is a country that simply does not make any sense, like most of the basket case countries the British created after WWI, countries created for geopolitical and economic exploitation purposes, not for the purposes of the people who live in those countries. Look at the globe - Sudan, two distinct countries that has been at genocidal war with itself forever. Afghanistan, a klepto-narco state that has been in a permenant state of civil war - made up of three ethnic groups that have massacring each other for centuries, Yugoslavia- where peace finally came when the states were allowed to go there seperate ways. The same thing would happen in Iraq - the Kurds and Shiites already have functioning governments, and the Sunnis would if we left. The people responsible for all the bloodshed and murder there is us, and just like Vietnam, it will stop if we simply leave.
