When were they last least bit active on this site? "Doc" has been busy modding up his pimp-mobile and talking crazy on other mercedes forums, while Alon's too busy with his work presumably to even visit this site.

The forum was essentially a bunch of wild kids with no parents to lay down the law. The problem could have been solved by NOT HAVING political discussions posted.. and if you feel it needs to be done, ask for each other's email and do it elsewhere. However, a bunch of you all said that its infringing on your given right to write whatever the %#&(%$& you want to..... for being like this, we all pay the price. Its been fun using this site.. I have learned a lot from people like LarryBible, MikeTangas, and PSFred to name a few. I hope the webmaster will rethink about opening it up later on... but if he chooses not to, I don't blame him one least bit.

It also could have been handled by a moderator, but no one was willing to put in the considerable time it would take to do the job properly.

I miss the pretty girls thread...the most popular thread in mbshop history..and one everyone could agree on...i hope they dont delete it.

I'm pissed. It's one of the few forums where a lot of the people explained why they thought the way they did, with just a few people throwing stupid crap at each other. I got a lot to think about from both sides. I think the forum managers over-reacted.

A poll was run, and a slim majority favored the political discussion. I think if one doesn't want to take part in the thread, just don't read it. There were many threads I didn't want to take part in, and didn't - it wasn't that hard. I'm sorry some folks get upset by that - too bad it had to come to banning, but I suppose there is no real alternative except a strong moderator with lots of time.

I agree.

The vintage forum isn't really that active and then I don't know half the stuff so I guess I'll be off to greener pastures...

To bad. I think the Dr. was a little too sensitive to some issues. Maybe if he could post what he had issues with we could agree to stay away from those. I've invested a lot of energy in posting as I know others have, and I raelly enjoy following many of the threads. Maybe after the election things could calm down they'd repopen the OD. Start a poll to see where the OD group could move too.
