What is the best wattage to use? How often do you change YOUR light bulbs? Do you use dino bulbs or synthetics?

Is it faster to Boston, or by boat?

I got tired of having to spend good money on mediocre lamps, so I decided to rebuild my own. I make my own thread out of left over cotton in the cotton fields, and then make my own carbon mixture to coat the threads with, from the soot out of my 300D exhaust pipe. The vacuum, is supplied by my TV, simply by tuning to reruns of the Tony Danza show in standard definition.

The key to good lighting is the proper wiring of the flux-capacitor...make sure that the middle plate, or base, lead wire is wrapped CCW around the outer surface of the glass...that way, when the "charge" passes from the negative terminal, through the dielectric, towards the positive terminal, the excess electrons will gather on the base wire (which is wound around the the glass envelope CCW), which, in turn, will cause the gas in the envelope to ionize and then conduct the charge that has been building up on the positive terminal lead to follow the ionized gas through the glass envelope, towards the negatively charged side of the tube, producing light as the electrons pass...

TAH! DAH!

Light!

Then, wash your hands and start all over again!

Keep up the good fight Larry!!

Don't forget that if you are south of the Equator, you must wind CW.

I don't like all the electronics on the new light bulbs. I'm using candles and oil lamps. They're so much easier to troubleshoot.

I read, somewhere (I don't remember if it was here, on "OD" or in the "Vintage Mercedes" Forum), that if you rub two sticks together, really, really fast, that will also give you light...

Has anyone tried that yet? And, what oil weight oil should be used on the sticks?

NOW, the real tough questions...

Did the lightbulb really want to change?

Or was it "born" that way?
