MedMech was right the other day....no one wants to laugh around here anymore. Too many taking themselves waaay too seriously.
Oh well. Guess "they" were right. You can't go back home.

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to kill this thread. It just seems that whatever "important issue" is brought up, the same rhetoric is used over and over by the same people. Ever read the story about the Boy that cried Wolf?
Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled program.

This is an important issue. If the Iraqi people don't perceive they have had a free and fair election there is just going to be more violence and we will just sink deeper into the quagmire. So far the election is a joke. The largest political party, the Baathists, has been banned. With only six weeks to go, not a single candidate has been able to campaign, because doing so is a sure ticket to be assasinated. Over 200 parties have been formed, and the voters have no knowledge of what any of them stand for. The Kurds don't want to participate, and the Sunnis who are not currently being machine gunned by us don't want to either. Now we are going to throw election-fixing into the friggin mess.

Members of our armed services have recently had their deployments extended, some for the second time or third time, while additional units have been activated. The increase in the U.S. troop count is part of an effort to provide the security for these important elections. Yet the administration thought it was in its best interest to influence the elections in Iraq and then have the cajones to send a message to Putin to keep his influence out of the Ukraine?

If we're using our most important military assets, shouldn't it be for an equally important cause?

Boy George, mean while, continues his fantasy that he rules the World. Guess he thinks Iraq is the 54th state of the Union and that he has absolute power over. The guy needs to stop snoring. Well, as I said before, he has the next 4 years to clean up his own mass. This is not done till the fat lady sings.
