Will Saddam be eligible for January's ballot?

Recent coverage of Iranian influence on Iraqi politics (link) made me wonder what would prevent Saddam from throwing his hat in the ring in next month's elections. Any legal reason why he could not do that? Now that Karl Rove got the big 2004 election behind him, maybe he needs a new client.

The reason is simple. The United States has outlawed the Baath Party in Iraq, at gunpoint. It is the key reason the whole thing is a sham, because 40% of Iraq are hard core Baathists. The Baath Party advocates Arab nationalism and the nationalization of oil assets, a position most Arabs support and the reason Baathism has such wide popular support across the Arab world. If they were allowed to run, they might win.

The oil companies would rather have an Iraq government run out if Iran than a Baathist governemnt. At it's core, western oil companies have been fighting a war with the Baath Party in the Middles East since the 1920's, using a succession of British and American governments they control as mercenaries to carry out mass murder across the Middle East to surppress it. The Iraq war is nothing more than another battle in that war.

The Greens are not push-overs. They were not intimidated by Ralph Nader, I would not expect them to bow under and run Saddam. Look to the Reform party to run Saddam in Iraq.

Do you think that he got the wood chipper idea from watching the movie "Fargo"?

Recently, a chicken farmer got into hot water for killing several thousand diseased chickens that way.....
