Uuuuuuuuhhhhg I might join the dark side.

I spend at least $50 a day on fuel and I don't mind $2.00 gas prices too much but $2.47 is starting to piss me off. I have to have a truck in the driveway but could get away (I think) with a sedan for my cruising around. Maybe the guys that work for me will stop asking me to haul their crap for them.

Anyway due to my less than perfect back I need good seats if I ever have another 124 I'll have to install a Recaro. But the 210 seats are managable.

Is the 4matic W210 in Diesel?

What are the trouble areas to look out for?

What price and mileage should I shop for?

I refuse to buy a new Cdi I won't take the hit for the next lucky sob because I change cars so frequently. I can't get a GOLF cdi either since the construction monkeys have no respect for anyone that drives a volkswagon.

You ought to go over to diesel discussion and introduce yourself. They may give you more insight to your question. Oh, buy the way, it's down the hall and to the left, if you've never been there before!

Why not look into someone who bought an 04 CDI and is looking to get rid of it due to high diesel prices? They've already taken the depreciation.

I have no shame in admitting that I have high standards. BUT I do have a problem with getting a virtual gas pump shoved up my A$$. Diesel is cheaper than gas here and almost every station sells it, plus a double in economy won't hurt either.

No, MB has never sold a diesel/4matic combo in the U.S. What you want is a 98 or 99 E300 Turbodiesel. There's plenty info over in Diesel Discussion about them.

You probably haven't been watching diesel prices for a long time, but they are seasonal. Winter demand for home heating oil drives diesel prices up, and they usually go back down (relative to gasoline prices) in the spring.

Werent you guys all just discussing the yugo? I know a guy has one in a trailer park, he'd probably let it go.

I pay about 2.89 around here, your gas is still cheap.
