Nj

Same story here. rates are going up by 50% in some areas. poeple have been fighting it, but to no avail.

central and northern NJ residents pay some of the highest in the country, maybe except Sanny Franny area.

The governer cut the school budgets, and there is noone else to foot the bill.

how good are the schools in your area? if they are good, then consider yourself lucky, pay the tax and consider it your kids education expense.

if they suck like our's do, then you not only have to foot the bill, but also send your kid to private school.

that is like buying two new e-class's each each year.

This is the dilemna of our generation. We make the same salaries as our parents did, but we pay 4 times the amount for houses, education & taxes.

brutul.

If they sent out an appraiser I wouldn't waste my time with an attorney.

ps edit: btw, i disagree about how complicated the process was--it only took my placing a written request. The complicated part would ensue if you didn't like their second stab at it and went from administrative review to the Court.

first reassesment in 15 years....what county is that in?

in Northern VA they reassess anually....

But is this profiteering on the part of the gov acceptable to anyone? Doesn’t this pattern encourage the gov to spend ever more, and then create another BS "obligation" to raise taxes yet again when the next downturn comes? I thought gov was supposed to moderate inflation. Not stoke the fire. How does this benefit anyone?
