LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Pop star Michael Jackson hailed his acquittal on child sex charges with a grandiose online celebration that likened his victory to the release of Nelson Mandela and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
"V is vindication," proclaimed the superstar's website MJJsource.com in a music-soaked presentation under the banner "Innocent," which featured an image of a hand offering Jackson's trademark "V" for "victory" sign. "Remember this day, for it is a part of history," declared a headline after recalling the February 11, 1990 release of South African political prisoner and future president Mandela, the November 9, 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall and the January 15, 1929 birth of civil rights leader Martin Luther King. "The truth runs marathons," the website said after a jury on Monday cleared Jackson of 10 charges, including child molestation, that could have put him behind bars for two decades. The panel in the California town of Santa Maria found the eccentric superstar not guilty on all counts after a dramatic four-and-a-half-month trial that tested the frail star's psychological and physical resilience. Jackson on Tuesday was at his Neverland ranch, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) from Santa Maria, recovering from the humiliating ordeal that began with his dramatic arrest 19 months ago. Jackson had denied any wrongdoing in the case, in which he was accused of fondling a 13-year-old cancer patient at Neverland two years ago, plying the boy with liquor and plotting to kidnap him and his family. The superstar did not comment to reporters or speak to fans following his stunning acquittal; the only comments on his victory came from family members, his lawyer and his website. |
A man who sleeps with boys is f**ked-up. A society that tolerates that behavior is a society that has no moral compass. Can a society be so insane?

Quote:
Society doesn't tolerate that.....its mostly people of a certain left leaning political persuasion that tend to support it......That makes them defacto supporters of NAMBLA now doesn't it? |
Quote:
So, therefore I conclude that you are a defacto supporter of NAMBLA Makes sense, right? Your argument. |

Like I said, it's your argument. |

I don't see an abundance of conservatives standing behind Jackson.............. |

Well I won't stand here and let you insult, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! GENTLEMEN!!! |

Therefore, my original statement, and conclusion, stands. I note that you did not qualify "left leaning", so, therefore, anyone who is leaning to the left, on any issue, can qualify. So, therefore, you are a supporter of NAMBLA, by your own definition. |

Anyway, here's my rap on MJ, same as what I posted on the other thread about him: I don't like, groove with MJ for a minute -- did you catch any of the video interview that brought this all on? dee-dee-dee-dee... (twilight zone theme song) -- the dude was WAYY out there (we need a "prosecute me please!" smiley for that one) -- buttt, the victim's mom was a straight up trip. Reminds of the Wendy's finger bee - awchh, Ayya - a - lay - you, or something. Did you see the old woman juror who was saying she didn't like the way the woman snapped her fingers at the jury -- she said "Don't snap your fingers at me lady..." to hearty laughter from her fellow jurors. I feel for the prosecutor, Sneddon. You just cannot let someone like MJ hide behind his money and fame and do this stuff. OTOH, sneddon was stuck with this impossible witness and his scamming mother. At the very least, he clipped MJ's wings somewhat, and if he pulls this shYte in a big way again, might not be so lucky next time. |

Just a shame it was the one of the kids who's parents were morally challenged.....but then aren't all parent who where sending their kids off to sleep with a 46 year old man. I find the entire thing disgusting....and whats worse than MJ being that way was the parents who know it and still send their kids to him. I mean I can't find words to really describe these people. |
I love this cartoonist -- he's only in the SF Chronicle. The strip is called Bad Reporter -- Don Asmussen. I'm still working on posting of pictures, I had to crop this one into 3 pieces to get under the size limit.

Guaranteed www.fire-inc.net SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (AP) - Michael Jackson's family and fans - and at least one of the jurors who acquitted him of child molestation - gathered Friday night for a huge party that was billed as a celebration of thanks. The pop star himself, who has not appeared in public since his 14-week trial ended Monday, was nowhere in sight. Among the approximately 400 people who arrived at the Chumash Indian Casino was juror Pauline Coccoz. When she walked into the casino and heard Jackson's music playing, Coccoz said, the enormity of what had transpired hit her. "They were playing 'Beat It,' and I almost started to cry," she said as she waited to enter the showroom. She said that earlier in the day, she had received a wristband needed for admission to the party. The crowd erupted in cheers as Jackson's mother, Katherine, arrived to the sounds of the song "I'll Be There." She came on stage at the end of the show to thank her son's fans from around the world for their support. "We couldn't have done it without you," Katherine Jackson said as her son Tito stood next to her, his hand on her shoulder. Others spotted arriving for the show included defense attorney Robert Sanger and Jackson's magician friend, who calls himself Majestic Magnificent. Reporters were kept out of the showroom, and an Associated Press reporter who got inside briefly was escorted out by tribal police. Casino officials said they had orders from the Jackson family to keep all journalists out. Tito Jackson has been performing periodically at the casino, and he had been scheduled to appear Friday night before it was decided to turn the show into what one of his band members called a celebration of thanks. Coccoz said that when someone gave her the wristbands she decided to bring her family, partly as a public display of her confidence in the jury's verdict. After the trial ended Monday, Coccoz, 45, was among the jurors who criticized the testimony of the accuser's mother. Coccoz also questioned the woman's parenting choices. "What mother in her right mind would ... just freely volunteer your child to sleep with someone, and not so much Michael Jackson but anyone, for that matter?" Coccoz said Monday. |
Hmmmmmmm.

.............and, therefore, with a parent like this, how could Michael Jackson possibly be guilty. |

This reminds me of the OJ juror who reportedly flashed OJ a thumbs up when they came out to announce the verdict. Later, he was in interviews where he referred to him as "The Juice."
Famous, popular people are in a different zone than the rest of us, and it's kinda weird. |
Here's what Michael's doing right now.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ileys/mike.gif
