Things I Learned - Part Deux

Final throes of an insurgency. . . can last up to 12 years, but be passive, if you're explaining it to a Congressional committee . . . but certainly not more than six months if you're standing in front of troops in Iraq.

You can be the counter culture icon of a generation, but it's still all about marketing!

Fresh from his Victoria Secret commercials ("Tangled Up in Boobs") Bob Dylan will release new album in Starbucks. Along with a frappacino, you can score vintage Bob Dylan recordings from the Gaslight Cafe in New York's Greenwich Village in 1962 will be produced and marketed by Starbucks.

Dylan joins Starbucks lineup of fellow caffineated artists Alanis Morissette with her new CD, an acoustic remake of her hit album Jagged Little Pill.

better than doing nothing like Clinton did.

Its better to be fighting them there...than dealing with them here.

And the majority of them are not insurgents..they are foriegn terrorists...

If Starbucks could control a market anymore than it already does, Sam Walden would be chairman.

The italians whining about that were communist party people who want to protect the terrorists like the liberals want to do here.

Whomever is responsible for vBulletin's "ignore" feature deserves a nomination for the Nobel.

In preparation for tonight Presidential chat . . .

any guess how many times the phrase "stay the course" will be deployed? I'm actually hoping that the phrase is left to the pundits and GWB's speechwriters come up with a new slogan . . . but then again, that wouldn't be "staying the course."

God Bless Basic Cable . . .

Bravo, the network that brough us "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and "Show Dog Moms & Dads" will be releasing their new "reality" series:

Being Bobby Brown - June 30th

The show offers a rare and compelling peek into the lives of two chart-topping stars, who both once dominated their genre of music, by traveling with Brown, his wife Whitney Houston and their family through the United States, the Bahamas and Europe for six months after the end of his jail term in 2004.

In the past five years, Brown has been arrested repeatedly for not paying child support, drunk driving, assault and suspicion of abusing Houston, herself often linked to drugs.

The curtain comes up on Brown, 36, as he is leaving prison -- where he says his kids first gave him the idea for the program -- and tracks him as he anxiously waits to reconnect with his wife.

"Do you think I can impregnate you tonight?" he asks Houston as they head to their hotel suite, only to be interrupted by their 12-year old daughter Bobbi Kristina.

Make sure you your TiVo is set for this momentous piece of programming.

DNC rule #1 ignore the truth...believe only what the DNC spokesman tell you to believe.

The Italians don't want people kidnapped from their country without their knowing about it. We would not allow another country to do that here, no matter what they said about it.

We are acting like we're the rulers of the world, and the world is not happy about it.

Bonehead: STOP AND THINK. It might be good exercise.

You need to stop and think...the whiners are the Italian lefties......

My WIFE is Italian...born and raised...and still holds a valid passport..I have the equivalent of a permanent Italian green card....I know more than the average person about real italians and the italian mindset...not the second and third generation americans of italian descent, thats far different..My wife reads the Italian news daily...she knows the parties there.....she knows what the stand for and against.

Its the Italian lefties who are doing the whining.

Alright! . . . no direct use of "stay the course" but then there was this:

Our mission in Iraq is clear. We are hunting down the terrorists. We are helping Iraqis build a free nation that is an ally in the war on terror. We are advancing freedom in the broader Middle East. We are removing a source of violence and instability and laying the foundation of peace for our children and our grandchildren.

Okay, I'm officially confused. First it was the war on terror, since Osama and Iraq were responsible for September 11 . . . then it was no, not the war on terror, but regime change since Iraq was acquiring WMDs in defiance of UN resolutions, then it was bad intel but isn't it wondeful we got rid of Saddam, and now we're fighting a war against terror . . . in a country that was, or wasn't previously part of the war on terror . . .

and don't forget, they've set up a website for the military families at
www.AmericaSupportsYou.mil

So let me see, Italian lefties should just shut up and let the real men run the country? That's the attitude your crowd has and then you crow about how we're going to take the wonders of democracy to Iraq and then the world. Oh so sorry to point out, the people you label as lefties are here and not going away. Real democracy means that they have a say in matters, even if they're in the minority -- if the minority is sizable, which it is.

It's like yin and yang -- you need both for a healthy organism. I don't want to get rid of or muzzle conservatives. They have a lot to add to the equation. What I do want is for this Goddamned witch-hunt bull$h!t championed by Limbaugh to cease and desist. Let that punk debate people instead of just heaping lies and propaganda on them from a distance.

Trust me boner -- if another nation's secret service came here and starting abducting people and taking them to a third country, it wouldn't just be American lefties who would be a'*****in'.

only a brainwashed, lefty, liberal from the dnc would oppose kidnapping and attempts at opressive world domination.
