Are you looking for a 300SDL in Spain or in the US? What do you want to know?

Aren't S-Class diesels only available in North America?

The W116 Diesels were only available in North America. Everything else was/is available elsewhere.

Wish I could Mariano but you have to understand they are hard to come by on this side of the pond.

Keep an eye out on Ebay or on autotrader.com. If you find one you are interested in try to get someone to look at it for you or fly over and look/drive/buy. In the past five years I have only seen two come up for sale in my area of the US.

The first S-class diesel that was available for Europe was the 140 in '92. I know they never had and 126 or 116 diesel. Who says they get all the good cars? It's funny because people want the European models since they have the manual transmissions but then we get the good diesel models.

Thanks
David

I guess the 126 SDs and SDLs I've heard of outside the US got there exactly the way Mariano intends to get his SDL to Spain.

Mariano, one aspect to consider as you evaluate candidates is where they spent their time. Cars that see road salt in winter may have rust issues. Purely out of luck my SDL spent time in Arizona before moving to California. It's very easy to service suspension components which is something that has to be addressed in a 20 year old car.

Since the last S-class Diesel sold in the US was the 95 S350 we can safely say that the Euro offering has been better for last 10 years.

Maybe you mean working person's car rather than slave's car. A slave has bigger problems than having to roll up windows by hand.

Your English is fine. Maybe our comprehension is bad

You might reconsider importing an old 300SDL to Spain. If the taxes on importation is anything like in Poland, you will be paying close to 4 times the purchase price in US once you factor shipping, taxes, fees and registration. Its very common in Europe to find old 1st generation w126's that had engines from a 300D(w124 and w123) put in.
