I know what happened, and I wasn't hallucinating! They were abusive to me from the beginning, then when I began to complain, they responded as though I had no right to complain, while slamming my money down on the counter. Yes, there was a tape of the events that have been viewed by the police and based on what occurred at the cash register, it would be clear to anyone of the rude and abusive attitude of the attendants.

I'm a fan of humiliating surly clerks. Remind them of their lowly position and poverty level income. Point out their lack of ambition, skills or marketable talents. Finally, emphasize that if they can't handle such simple task as ringing up a coke and a pack of smokes they are doomed for failure in whatever endevour they choose to persue after they get fired from their current position.

But stay away from racial slurs. It's tacky.

It may not accomplish much but it beats getting your ass beat by some curried goat smelling mofo.

I would do the same thing every so often. It's not the surly part, but the inability of the clerk to do the simple task of ringing the merchandise correctly before I need to order some food and have it brought to the store.

But, I finally realized that I don't feel any better after ripping into them.

And, they haven't learned anything from the interaction, other than the fact that they consider me an *******.

So, now I realize, why bother? Attempt to avoid shopping at that location, if at all possible.

Speaking of curried goat, I read today that turmeric has some anti-cancer function that has folks all excited. Anybody else read that? I'll try to Google-up some curry for you. Or I'll curry some google, thereby currying favor.

The compound that makes curry yellow could help fight skin cancer.

Researchers in the United States say curcumin, found in turmeric, interferes with melanoma cells.

Tests show that curcumin made melanoma skin cancer cells more likely to self-destruct in a process known as apoptosis.

The same team found curcumin helped stop the spread of breast cancer tumour cells to the lungs of mice.

Bharat Aggarwal of the University of Texas in Houston and colleagues treated three batches of cells with curcumin at different doses for varying times.

The curcumin suppressed two proteins that tumour cells use to keep themselves immortal, the researchers write in next month's issue of the journal Cancer.

"Based on our studies, we conclude the curcumin is a potent suppressor of cell viability and inducer of apoptosis in melanoma cell lines," Aggarwal's team wrote.

Earlier research has shown that curcumin, which acts as an antioxidant, can help prevent tumours from forming in the laboratory.

Aggarwal said people who eat plenty of turmeric have lower rates of some cancers, although the spice itself has not been shown to reduce cancer risk in people.
