Anyone been over to the mbworld.org 124 forums?

They are ricing out thier 124's with the best of them.

I'm not attempting to "hate" or "dis" or anything, all the power to them its thier cars and thier money, but my goodness has anyone else seen it? It's worth a peek for a quick laugh at least.

W124, 201, 202 and 203 cars are ending up in younger and younger hands, so it's no surprise that a younger take on modifications is out there. Is it something to get a "laugh" out of? I don't think so.

I'm younger. I'm 18, I wouldn't touch any of that stuff with my car. I prefer to leave the elder MB's in thier original state, quite classy.

So what was the point of soliciting people to go to another forum to get a laugh at other people's cars? Seems somewhat elitist when you get down to it.

Oh relax. I was just asking I didn't offend anyone I said "it wasn't my thing but all the power to them" I'm sure you have better things to do than sit here and get worked up over internet posts.

Actually, I make it a point not to make judgments or comments about the appearance of other peoples cars, even on a certain W201 forum. First, as pointed out, taste is purely subjective and I don't see what point there is in bascially saying something online that I wouldn't say to the car owner in person. In much the same way as I can refrain from commenting on a person's physical appearance, the appearance of their spouse or significant other and their pet . . . I manage to get through life without having to tell another person that their Mercedes does not live up to an arbitrary standard.

...Rice Rice Baby, dung dung dung da da dung dung. Rice Rice Baby...

I would never ever ever modify my 124, that would be just tacky...d'oh, too late!

You mean the Standards for fuzzy rear view dice, lowered rear end, moon caps, hot flames, headers, chromed exhaust tips, greased back hair, white tee shirts with a pack of Lucky-Strike's rolled up, standards?

Thanks a lot, it's in great shape and I put a lot of sweat and hours into it so I'm proud to admit it. I am seriously considering selling it, and I would rather find a good home than some more cash in my pocket. If it goes, it's hopefully going to someone on this forum and only for the amount of $$$ it would take to put me into my next vehicle, hopefully a VW.

You guys are crazy, except for a lot of them being too low, they were mostly AMG bumpers, and wheel mods? Whats the big deal? Or did I not see the right thread? It takes imagination and balls to do something to your car that people might not like, even if it looks stupid, but nothing over there was really that bad, maybe like 2 cars. And dont get me wrong I rag on stupid looking cars with everyone else, but only when they earn it.
