Does anyone feel guilty running the house a/c

because of the pollution that is made to generate the electricity to run that baby. Between the house and the shop I am running about 9 tons worth of cooling and no, I don't feel guilty. I only turn the one in the shop on when I am going to be working in there but I don't think the ones in the house ever turn off.

The wife pays the electric bill.

You won't feel guilty if you turn it off in my neck of the woods -- you'll be dead.

Isn't cooling about the same price as heating for the winter time?

108,000 BTU's.

I have three window units (24,000 total) for three rooms. Usually only one is running at any given time.

The electric bill climbs $50.00 per month for July and August.

I can't imagine the cost of running all that power for the better part of four months.

My f$**ing electric bill hit an alltime high last month at 321.00.

It's not the friggin' ac either. It's my wife who was born with a silver spoon and my damn kids who have a misplaced sense of entitlement.

Good one considering recent events in my household.

Those ****ers think that everytime the AC shuts down that they should lower the thermostat so it turns back on.

****!

Come on now...........that can be fixed for about $60.00.

Go down to HD and get a digital thermostat that has a "locking" feature. You can't change the program or the temperature without the input of a code.

You choose the code. They can't change the temperature.

.........take it from an old Landlord..........I don't pay for excess gas in the winter........that's for damn sure.

A/C, what's that?
Honestly it's been hot here in MA, but my family and I press thru it (really hot days only come about 10 times a year), no A/C. We might lose sleep alittle but get thru it all the same.

Cooling the out-of-doors by opening the doors and windows with the central air going 24/7, then cooling the house by leaving the fridge door open? I married into that family, too!

Dang! That's a lot of $ for A/C in Miami.
Guess the next time my A/C bill goes over $100, I won't ***** so much (as in my last bill was $102, and I decided I need to turn off my ceiling fan when I'm not home).

Then again, I change my filter once a month. About once a year I take a look at the evaporator and clean it off too. Take a look at yours... You might be surprised what is on there....Really!.

Heck no...I don't feel guilty. Unlike Ariana Huffington with her Huge airconditioned mansion, her private jet and fleet of gas hog SUV's who preaches but doesn't practive what she preaches, I have no guilt....I earned the money , I earned the right to A/C.
