March of the Penguins: If you liked the Shackleton story, you might like this...
Call me sentimental and sappy, but I dug this movie. The hype is not incorrect. I kept hearing how it was a real sleeper and was finding legs. I've seen bits and pieces of various penguin sagas before, but these guys managed to get some amazing footage. Morgan Freeman narrates, but eet wos feelmed by Fah-rennchh-men. How do zey do eet?

We went to go see this movie-documentary as well and we enjoyed it a lot. It's an up close experience that we felt was well done. I have to give the crew a lot of credit for enduring the weather and how they got those underwater shots in that freezing cold water. How did the crew survive by only carrying those tiny sleds?

I'm glad they showed some of the footage of the film crew at the end, while the credits were rolling. Can you imagine filming that clear through the winter?! That shot of the first bit of daylight was a trip. The sun peaked up over the horizon for what, a minute?
I'm with you -- how in the heck did they get those underwater shots? You'd think they'd almost need a mini-sub or a submersible sphere to pull that one off. I dig those underwater shots of penguins. That's their element. After looking so awkward on land, to see them fly underwater is a trip.
