How many of you are college educated ?

Hi,

I was reading a study today that the most educated city is Seattle, Washington with 22% of people having a bachelor degree.

Did most of you finish school or you had to stop for some reason or another ?
Oh yes, did you actually end up doing what you majored in in school ?

The smartest people I have ever met never went to college (imagine if they did )

Not me! I took my leave of school in the midst of 10th grade to pursue my beau ideal of working in a junkyard.

No great loss to academe as I was steeped in the classics since childhood and had read Montaigne,Shakespeare,Moliere,Scaliger,Racine and Boileau since age 7,the Greek and Roman Masters I read later, school had nothing at all to do with this.

From my earliest years I considered it a superfluous, arrant waste of time, thus I was labeled"slow" for my failure to complete my appointed, assembly line like tasks,It was so phenomenally tiresome.

They even placed me in a "special education"class which was the catalyst for me leaving school, one can only be called "retard"only so many times.

It is an odd thing but when in school I simply would not comprehend mathematics, once in the real world however,I found I could rapidly compute sums, figure percentages etc.

Absolutely no regrets, but that I didn't leave earlier.

BS & MBA, Marketing.

Would have never taken half the risks in life I took without them to fall back on.

After "dropping out" as the picturesque term was, I enrolled in the Joseph Bulova school of watchmaking and jewelry repair which launched me on a very fascinating career.
