Live in the dorm. I visited my sister for a weekend, and all I have to say is you WILL miss alot. It was fun, especially some of the things that went on down there. Get urself a dorm, and then when you graduate, get that car of your dreams that you have always wanted. Plus in a few years, that 15k dollar Benz may be worth half of what you would pay now.

The dorm experience is a GOOD thing. College is a time for expanding your horizons and making life long friends. Staying at home would be like ....4 more years of high school.

If college life is in any way remotely like I remember, having a car on campus was a PITA. An MB (to me) would seemingly be a target for vandalism every weekend by hordes of drunken malcontents.
Convenient parking on campus was difficult to obtain (even at the dorms), and the campus police probably funded the athletic program simply by the revenue gained by the sheer number of parking tickets issued each day! Actual vehicle use was limited to returning home after midterms or holiday breaks. Local metro sights and shops outside of campus were accessible by foot or public transportation. Treat yourself to a Benz after you graduate...you can score with the campus honies w/o the "star" anyway. ![]()

I agree with the others. I spent the last 5 years while at school at a place about a block away from campus. Used my car less than once per week. Forget about the Benz it is a nice toy for later. You’ll never regret living on or near campus.

You have the rest of your life for cars. Not so for college life. But then again, that fact that you are thinking about this to such an extent puts you outside of the college mainsteam.

How close are you to home...if its close save running up the dept and get the benz...college with be over soon enough and while you have a benz and far less debt some of these other fools will have no benz and be up to their ears in debt.

daumn, i agree with bone.. you can always have a party in the benz! dorms, while fun are not really conducive to studying (isn't that why you're there in the first place) and living in them sucks.. sure parties are good but you can crash those anytime...

Do the dorm thing. The best experience I had. I happened to live in a dorm with most of my classes in the lower level, talk about sleeping till the last 10 seconds before class started. I was also in a dorm which was co-ed. Women on top and first floor, guys in the middle. Very convenient
