This is just a feeler. I have been considering a diesel, but my beloved 91 300E would have to go first. It is in excellent shape; I maintain it meticulously. I have owned it about a year and have corrected any flaws that were there when I bought it. It is my daily driver and is driven 2,000 miles per month (24,000 since I bought it last September). Major repairs include upper timing oil leak, transmission valve body remove and flush (shifts perfectly now, and rest of transmission checks out in excellent condition), water pump just a few months ago, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, tires, alignment, tie rod, refinished center wood console, new stereo (sounds NICE), regular oil changes, lots of new bits under hood including air cleaner mounts, air intake pipe, etc. Gets 19-20 mpg around town, 25-26 on the highway.

A/C blows ice cold (will need 1 can of R12 each year), waxed with Zymol vintage regularly (though not reflected in the log below). Color is grey on grey and interior is in excellent condition with the exception of the typical B-pillar shrinkage on the passenger side which can be fixed easily for no money.
