Thinking of selling 240 D

Since my father won't be driving anytime soon, I have decided I might be selling his 240D.

I have a 300SDL that gets no use ever since the 240 came here. I also have an extra company van , so my driveway is a little cluttered. Plus I have the extra expense of fuela nd ins, blah, blah.

It has 118k on it on runs great. Ice cold ac and the exterior and interior are in very good shape.

I would say it's an 8 out of 10. With that mileage, it should run for quite some time.

IT has 4 brand new Michelin X tires(1200 miles) and runs straight, tight with no rattles.

We are the 2nd owners and I have a stack of receipts from the original owner that come along with it.

Unfortunately, my dad never kept receipts for the fews things that did need fixing while he's had it. Like shifter bushings, and some other minor things.

I have receipts for recent glow plugs and GP relay, and brake pads.

Other than that the car has not ever given us problems in the 3 years we've had it.

Any idea how much I can get for it?

I was thinking 3500 - 4000 from someone with knowledge of these. Or maybe trying ebay, although I don't want to much hassle.

Oh, it's gold w/palomino interior.

You may be reaching a bit at that price.....since you have no maintenance records....these typically bring less, but there is always the possibility you could get that. THese have a frequent history of slipping ODO gears so a maintenance history goes a long way to bringing the higher prices...

He said it has most service records.

That sounds high, but prices for these cars seem to be higher lately than, say, a year ago, so who knows.

What sort of condition is the interior and exterior in?

Glow plug controller on the left fender has built in timeing circuit.....it will shut down after about 40 seconds ...more or less. Glow plugs are 12V on these....its the older non-turbos that you found the series wired glow plugs.

I have all the records, except for 3 oil changes or so, not even worth mentioning.

The seats are in almost excellent shape. The drivers seat has on cigarette burn. The rest are fine. The rugs are good and it has new mats.

I'll post some pics later.
