Rick Santorum, Socialist?

I got a good laugh out of this comment on www.talkingpointsmemo.com:

"Arch-phase-out-man Santorum trying to run on record of preserving Social Security? Next to campaign as senate's prime champion of free love?"

That is funny as hell. I have no idea what Santorum said to prompt that comment, but I would find it encouraging if all those right-wingers who have always wanted abolish Social Security felt the need to act like they really like it. It would restore some faith that people in this country haven't gone completely insane, yet.

Did anyone else follow the creation of the new noun, 'santorum' by the author of the Savage Love column? What a legacy.

santorum: the frothy mixture of lubricant and fecal matter which is a byproduct of anal sex.

Santorum is one of the most bizarre characters on capital hill IMHO. The guy is just weird. Listening to his floor remarks, I'm dumbfounded that someone could be so intent on being a fool.

And the right thinks he's presidential timber.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

And that's saying something.

Santorum was on the Daily Show as part of his book tour earlier this year. Jon Stewart did an excellent interview, as usual. Santorum came off surprisingly well. Stewart caught flack on some of the left-wing blogs because he didn't attack Santorum. He actually let him express his views without undue interruption. It was a refreshing change. I thought the left-wingers who criticized the interview are being short-sighted. As bizarre as his views may be, Santorum speaks for a LOT of people in this country. We need to listen.

I laughed out loud at that one. Is that wrong of me to do that?

It's either laugh or cry.

I read that Santorum and his wife took their miscarried fetus into bed with them and slept with it for a night. It seems so bizzare that I'm tempted to believe its apocryphal.

This is one reason I think Stewart is a major, major player. The guy can walk the tight wire with all kind of guests and everyone is happy, usually. I saw the Santorum spot and it was interesting. People seem to love Stewart, left and right.

Bill O was on t'other night and he wasn't as mellow as the previous time I saw him there -- doing some of his shouting, finger jabbing routine which is his strong (only) suit.

Did you catch Hannity and Colmes doing a joint appearance a year or two ago? It was a riot. Hannity was acting like a blushing groupie and the two of them sitting on the couch together was an odd sight.

Lemme see, I've seen Kissinger, Rep. Bonillo of Texas (horses arse), Richard Perle, Bob Dole, Karen Hughes, Colin Powell, jeez, I can't think of all the conservatives who have been on his show. You'd never see Limbaugh doing something like that. Never.

That is funny but... almost too much information.

Works better for him than it did for Ted Kennedy.....hell Barbara Boxer would have to pay people...and Nancy Pelosi wouldn't find any takers if she had Bill Gates fortune....
