Talking Please Tip The Pizza Delivery Driver

Please tip the pizza delivery driver

This is a public service announcement from tipthepizzaguy.com. What some folks don't understand is that delivery people are paid a very low amount. It is expected that they will receive tips and whatever they get belongs to them. Please, if you can afford $16 for pizza, you can surely pay the delivery person $2.50 for bringing it to your door. The driver is, in essence, your waiter on wheels. They use their own car. They work hard to give you the convenience of delivery to your door and take on added costs because of the job. Since you appreciate the service, please tip the driver.
The customary tip is
· 15% or $2, whichever is greater
· 20%+ for excellent service
· less for poor service, such as 5% or 10%
· slightly more in bad weather and for distances over 3 miles from the store
The tip is not included in the bill and it is not covered by a delivery charge if the store has one. For more information about this and pizza delivery in general, please visit our website at tipthepizzaguy.com. After all, you don't want to be rude.
Having said that, you or someone you know can earn money as a pizza delivery driver. Apply at a store in your area. The requirements are
· You must be at least 18 because delivery is considered a hazardous job by the US government.
· You must have a reliable, dependable car since drivers use their own car and put 75 to 100 miles on it every day.
Please remember to tip the pizza delivery driver.

We are an independent source and are not associated with any pizza store or chain, and not sanctioned by one. This is intended as a one-time only message. For information purposes only. Please visit tipthepizzaguy.com.

I always tip at least $5 coincidently my Pizza always arrives hot and much sooner than quoted or expected and some bonus wings or pop.

It's a pretty good investment IMO if you live in a small town and order from the same place.

Who here tips the garbage man? If you don't do it! When we forget to take the trash to the road they will take it to the truck themselves. Not to mention dumping anything and everything I put by the curb.

I tip the garbage man - that is a must. I usally catch the thrower once a month or so and hand him a twenty for lunch for him and the driver. This is an absolute must at my house. I could probably put a body in a trash bag and they would take it. He actually has come up to the house and got the can when it was not taken to the curb and my driveway is a good 75' from the road.

Good man. I delivered pizza for a few weeks about 20 years ago when I needed some quick money in a town I was only going to be in for a short time. About half the people tipped. One day, I got some college students who thought that giving me 20 some dollars in pennies was a hoot.

Probably shouldn't have taken it, but I did.

Surprising thing is, you'd be amazed at the number of ladies who order pizza who are really happy to see you at the door.

Course, I was a little cuter then.

I don't deliver pizzas but I do stock in a grocery store and at this store, the stockers have to drop what they're doing to go carry out groceries when the cashiers call us. It can make for a very long truck day when its busy during the day. I usually average about three to four dollars a day, enough to cover my lunch. People tend to tip better when we have to work on holidays and bad weather days, like the round of "snow" that just hit us, which I'm sure you folks up north wouldn't even bat an eye at. My dad is, in my opinion, pretty rude to waiters and such. He usually tips well but I always slip a few extra bills under my plate because I feel bad because I'm also that guy with the crap job that has to put up with people like him and am very grateful for whatever people will give me. Even quaters from older gentlemen help out. Even if I get crappy service I usually leave at least one dollar.
