The left wing is treating these leeches very well. The kid Chris who gets a check from social security AND gets to go to what is essentialy a private school doesn't get any sympathy. His father, who gets a check because he can't work because "he drinks", is another leech. I don't mind the special school, but why should these capable people live off of the hard work of others? I don't feel sorry for people that have a large tv and plenty of money for smokes and alcohol. I also noted that Chris and family also had four dogs. They also had a nice computer along with being able to buy a new mobile home and pay a note on a nice piece of property, thanks to Social Security. That is not poverty. That is being lazy.

Reminds me of a girl my son knew, she got divorced in her early twenties. She drove a new Honda Accord(daddy paid for) and lived with her family that was well of. Because she failed to use birth control and cortrol spreading her legs she also had a son that she used to get a variety of benefits from the taxpayers. She knew what she was doing was wrong, she would give her mom the over $600 in food stamps she got a month for the cash. Mom would go to another county to spend the food stamps because she feared being seen by one of her yuppie friends. The daughter would take the money and buy drinks at the bar for everyone. How nice. Another example of being lazy.

This country depends way too much on handouts. The hippy generation of the 1960's is somewhat responsible. It also seems like free love is still alive today, because most of these welfare masters have multiple kids. I think that if you get welfare you should be obligated to take the pill.

My comment about the right wing applied to 'Waging a Living', not to 'Country Boys'. How could you possibly consider the boys leeches? They are young kids born into absolutely terrible home lives. Would you prefer than Chris not get SS and have to drop out of school to work full time. Using our social resources to help those boys get an education is an absolute minimum in my opinion. (The father is another issue.) Both Chris and his mother work. The last thing they are is lazy. The poor kid works until midnight then has to do homework.
Let's make birth control and abortions readily available to all social classes and develop a huge advertising campaign extolling the virtues of planning parenthood. SEX IS FOR LOVE, NOT FOR REPRODUCTION

Chris wouldn't NEED the SS if he had parents that were somewhat responsible. Chris is sure lazy about the education that is being handed to him on a platter by teachers that treat students like they are in kindergarten. Mother might have a job, but uses her son for the SSI. There is no parental discipline in that family. No excuse for that. Mother whines and only helps her son when it look like he might lose the precious SSI. The kid was pretty lazy toward school in the forst episode because all he wanted was his drivers liscence(sic), when he couldn't get it right away he dropped out. ME ME ME

I still think that if you live off of govt assistance then the govt sgould mandate birth control for all of baby machines.

My kid was born premature over 35 years ago. Instead of defaulting on the huge hospital bill, I took another job painting apartments for a friend of mine. I didn't consider it beneath me either. At one point I worked three jobs to pay those bills(we had insurance, it only covered so much). I would do it again today. At the same time we had a 13 inch b/w tv I bought used at a pawn shop. It's called having priorities. Heck, half our house didn't furniture when we were first married because my wife and I didn't want to go into debt. It took us a while to save up the money to buy what we needed outright. Remeber when you had to rent your phone from ma Bell? We only had one phone to save money. These concepts are foreign to welfare leeches, since they didn't have to work for what they have.

Precisely. Chris's life is not his fault. How can you expect a child raised in those circumstances to be the same as a child from other types of families. His mother gave him no encouragement to continue in school when he was considering dropping out. You are projecting the life of the parents onto the child and blaming the child for having the parents he has.

I have no idea at all what the connection is between fingernail polish and pierced nipples and laziness.

Chris gets plenty of good role models from the cummunity(including the various references to God at a public school). His mother is a waste, she uses her son for the SSI, that is the only time she cares about his schoolwork. She is coin operated. Mitzi ,the pricipal, even tries to get him to go to community college and tries to show him that it is possible. It's just easier to collect the SSI. I am sure he will end up like his parents: welfare leeches.

The connection between pieced nipples et al is that no one would hire a kid like that to do anything except clean toilets. That kid is digging his own hole. Let him lay in it. If he was ambitious he wouldn't do things that are sure to turn off employers. He will end up getting his spoiled girlfriend who drives a nice Cadillac Catera knocked up. They will probably suck off the govt teat in the future.
