Electric bass here. I'd kill for a UEB (upright electic bass)

Practicing a lot of Jamerson's music (See "Standing in the shadows of Motown" book and video.

Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice, you can be that good. What you can visualize can Become reality.
It's gotta be a uke.

I've been amazed, more than once, at what can be done with those little, borderline toy looking things. This fellow pushed the envelope further than I've seen it done before though. Something tells me we might be hearing more from him. Is that his name, "Leenks?"

I imagine most of you have heard of Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole, the now deceased BIG Hawaiian guy who got semi famous for his version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," a song you wouldn't think would have a lot left to be mined for. Well, you'd think wrong on that one. The dude has mesmerized countless people with that one.

Anyhow, he accompanies himself with a Uke, not nearly as virtuoso as the "Leenks" fellow, but very tasty nonetheless.

I don’t know him personally; based on his body language it seams he has classical music training.
I think your right we might be hearing more from him.

Ahh, a fellow bass player. Ever listen to or see Les Claypool. Wow, that guy puts on a show. He has a killer UEB that he uses on stage that basically the shape of a Martin backpacker guitar but much longer. I would love to have an upright bass.

" I was Made to Love Her " is a good Jamerson line I always like to play. Gladys Knight's version of "Grapevine" is another. The entire "What's Going On" album is like a Jamerson showcase. Which songs are you working on?

If the Motown film of a couple of years ago is to be believed, he played much of that album sprawled out on his back on the studio floor as he was too 'tired' to stand.

If you want to hear "virtuoso" on a ukulele . . . Jake Shimabukuro will amaze you, he's the "Clapton" of 4 string ukes here. His brother's not bad either.

I'm working on "Whats Going on" Eventually playing with just chord changes/improv.

"I was made to love her" is one of the greatest tracks written (along with Bernadette) You can listen to it 100 times in a row, and it still stays fresh.

He wasnt tired....he was drunk

PS: Claypool/Primus is sick. 6-string slap bass with a fretless. "Have a cigar" (pink floyd cover) is good stuff.
