Dear all,
As you all know that I have been studying for my medical boards. The medical boards for MDs basically consists of 4 KICK ASS exams. I have just received the results from the first exam that I have given. I HAVE PASSED!!! I scored a 97 out of a possible 99!!
I thank God and all of you who prayed for me.Only 3 more exams to go!!

Excellent, keep you nose into the books for the other three. Lord know we have enough lawyers (would be or otherwise) in the forum, some medical expertise is needed

Congratualtions! I have a friend who recently went through that so I have an idea of how tough it is. He's part way through a radiology residence in Iowa now.

Good luck on the next three, although with that score it seems you're relying on hard work and old fashioned brain power more than luck.

Thumbs up

Thanks all. This kinda feels like a second family here. What is awesome here is even though people here don't always see eye to eye with each other they still respect the other and become genuinely happy for any one of us who accomplishes something or gets something and are always willing to help out. NOW THAT IS BEAUTIFUL, Isn't it? Screw muslims, Jews, christains, Arabs, Israelis. This is how the real world should be. Just like our forum here.
Example: Bot and I rarely agree on anything but he is truely happy for my accomplishment. Not only is that wonderful but shows what an awesome character he has. Thanks bro. I wish the world was like this forum.

I thank GOD that I don't have to pay back any loans. My dad insisted on paying for me. I love my dad!

Congratulations. Nothing like setting a high goal and meeting the challenge.

I assume from the above remark that you mean the real world would be better if people could be banned?

LOL not banned but instead the real world would be much better if people respected everyone else and became happy for the other's accomplishments even though they disagreed on certain issues. In the real world, banned would be the equivalent of getting killed. I'm not for that bro.

Banned? is that mayhaps a reflection on some unidentified person here?

Anyway, wait 'til you start walking the floors as a newbie draining cysts and inspecting fistulas, best of luck anyway.

You have to crawl before you can walk.........

Congrats!!!!

My bro is a doc, and I remember the days he had to put up with the boards...also drawing crappy pay, etc.

From what I can tell, don't you have to do this on a periodic basis though?

No that's for the "board certification and re-certification" in your specialty. Not for the actual boards to get your licence. That would be a bum if I had to do this periodically. I would leave this field then!

Congratulations on the pass. As a fellow student I can understand your sacrifices, although not to the same degree as I am further behind you. I switched my program.

I haven't decided on whether or not to write the MCAT. I have one more year to decide if I would be doing it for me or for my mother (MD '78).

Regards,

Mike
