Spyware computer help!
Hey guys...back again with computer help needed! (Thank god no Benz help needed)
Ive recently got this "Spyfalcon" program somehow loaded itself onto my system and if you go to add remove programs it will uninstall but then once the comp is restarted its back. It keeps popping up and showing me "threats found" etc on the system and I must purchase the program to remove them...ya right. I tried every spyware program and all of them cleaned up the system except for that thing...it wont find it. Aswell if you leave the computer idle, pop-ups will show up (sometimes un-decent ones!) I use Mozilla Firefox. Of course re-formatting would cure it but any other way around?

Did you try www.webroot.com 's spysweeper?
Or go here and go down to the official downloads section where you will find some useful programs.. http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html |

Win XP Professional.
Apparently this is "malware" software which has loaded itself like a virus into the computer. I read the "threats" are also false.

Go to start, and then run.
Type msconfig. Press enter. Click services tab. Check the Hide Microsoft Services Box. Click disable all. Click startup tab. Click disable all. Press apply. Press close. Press Restart button. Let power cycle fully. Try again to see if that helps.

I had a similar experience with a malware program call Spyaxe. It was even causing what looked like Windows security alerts on my computer. It was telling me that my machine was infected with spyware. It was trying to get me to go to the spyaxe website and pay them for this "software" that would rid my machine of the "threat". None of my spyware or antivirus programs could get rid of it. I finally did a Google search on Spyaxe and found a program that you download call smitrem that got rid of it. Truly annoying to say the least, but at least no permanent damage. Try looking up your problem and see if there is a fix to get rid of it. Good luck.

To do so, when your PC boots up, hit F8 and you should get a choice of boot modes - choose 'Safe without Networking'. Then manually delete all associated files pertaining to the spyware, as per Larry's post. Good luck!

spyaxe will remove all your restore points. it's a real pest. whenever fighting any stuff like this, always do it in safe mode.. i also tend to monitor windows task manager for unfamiliar programs. almost always, i get the first clew there. |

Glad to see you fixed it, they are a pain in the ass to say the least. I also agree with removing spyware in safe mode, that's how I got ride of mine (spyaxe) from running the removal program from my desktop in safe mode. If it hadn't been for that, I would have had to use regedit to manually remove it.Changing the windows registry is not for the faint of heart that's for sure, been there.
