The gazillionth time? I'm trying to think if you've said that before.

Olbermann's show is somewhat unlike anything you'll find on FOX. Some of the MSNBC stuff is about as tired as everything else. Chris Mathews is bright but damn the guy is rude. A legend in his own mind. Joe Scarborough is more honest than many conservative pundits but some of his views are way ill-conceived. IMHO, of course.

PBS is so far out in front of FOX and CNN in terms of probity and originality, it's hard to quantify.

I have a simple solution to your problems with O'Reilly.

Change the channel.

So simple I am surprised you haven't thought of it.

And you actually managed to write this with a straight face? DO you believe everything in STAR and National Enquirer too?

Coming from you, a charter member of the Hatfield/McCoy feud, who doesn't watch PBS, it's hard to take it seriously.

Check out some of the Frontlines pieces on PBS. They're not bad.

Whether I ever watch his show or not does not change the fact that O'Reilly is one of the leading propagandists on a network that has virtually devoted itself to Bush and the Repubs in general.

O'Reilly's behavior in this is a chillingly precise metaphor for our foreign policy in the U.S. We have run roughshod over various nations for about 60 years and this is OK and called for but when we even feel threatened by another country, it's time for all out attack.

Bill demonstrated his whacko-ness in spades on this one, and the bankruptcy of the supremacist mindset in general.

I agree, he is a whacko. That's why I change the channel whenever I see him.

There are a lot of blowhard whacko gassbags on radio and tv, Rash Limburger, Al Farken, Michael Moore, etc. Whenever I see one of these 5hitheads, I simply pick up the clicker and change the channel. Makes me feel so much better!! :)

As for your daily Hate America First rant, I can only say...... Dood, your record is stuck.:1blank:

Liberals have no business talking about propaganda.....anything a liberal utters these days is a bold faced lie....

And the bold faced liars at CBS have been caught doing it...the NYT have been caught doing it....the Washington post has been caught doing it.

NPR will be next.

Hatterasguy 03-11-2006 06:08 PM

The NYT and LAT are pretty biased papers. It has gotten bad. Would it kill them to run one positive story about Bush or the war? So far the WSJ seems to be the only decent major paper left.

The whole point of O'Reilly's show is to confront people, its an op ed show not hard news. Ratings are king and that style of show produces good ratings.

I don't know about the LAT, but the NYT ran so many pro-Bush, pro-war articles that they got rid of one of their most famous reporters and published a major retraction. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1225616,00.html.

The NYT also carried the water for the RNC during the Clinton administration in the 1990s and the Gore campaign in 2000. Every anti-Clinton or anti-Gore rumor that came out went right to their front page.

I don't know why Bush supporters bash the NYT.

maybe its because they are so pro-liberal and anti-conservative. One or two stories does not erase an institutionalized bias that goes back decades upon decades. Once in a while they may get something right. Its the law of averages.

Find the inqusitive nature to watch "Outfoxed" and you'll see your favorite network in action doing it.

But your line "anything a liberal utters these days is a bold faced lie" is assinine from top to bottom. CBS got caught in the 60 Minutes thing about Bush, no doubt about it. I think that was more of an error in research than an intentional lie. 60 Minutes had a really good piece a few weeks back about a company that developed a drug that proved very effective in ameliorating the effects of radiation poisoning. The DoD expressed great interest and funded more research and encouraged the company bigtime. Just when they were up and running, the Bush Admin. pulled the plug on the whole thing by approving the purchase of only a token amount. 60 Minutes showed footage of the Little Lord Fauntleroy looking fool that Bush had appointed to the post that oversaw such things. If you don't believe me, read the story:

Radiation Sickness Drug

Serious, serious mismanagement in our land and you're not going to hear about it from BILLO.

Well, maybe I do go off on it a bit much. If I didn't see such a double standard displayed in our national attitude over and over, I might not be so whacked about it. I read about what we've done in country after country in the post war era, and I hate to say that I would probably hate America too if I was a native of one of those countries. We're swimming upstream if we think we can ignore human nature with impunity like that.

do you believe Michael Moores rants too? Personally I won't watch any show that is produced by someone with enough of an axe to grind they would spend the time and money to do that....this and anything Micheal Moore puts out suits that description. Nobody with that big a chip on their shoulder like that can be trusted to be honest much less factual.

And CBS and 60 minutes has more than once gotten caught fabricating stories...think back to the GM truck saddle tank issue ...and Rathergate.

I don't care for Moore. Too one-dimesional and lacking in cahonnes, other than the smart-a$$ed kind.

The people at 60 Minutes and many other media outlets you disparage are often, almost always I'd bet, speaking the truth as they see it. If you stick your head in the sand and conclude that you and you're crowd are the only ones in the know, you stunt your growth big time. That's why I read the conservative press and watch FOX (some) as well.

Seek ye some expandulation, oh Doctor of Dis-inclination.

Do you still believe the disproved Rathergate alligations.....

or how about how we are burning Korans and doing all sort of nasty stuff to the poor misunderstood terrorists like certan media outlets want you to believe? Or how about all this indocrination thats been happening in classrooms when the teachers are supposed to be teaching. No wonder kids can't read or write...despite the cubic dollars being wasted in the schools.

Thats facts...and facts the left wants to ignore.
