So the left has to whine and complain about not having an uncontested monopoly in spreading their bias like they used to have.

Can't really see where he hates? I watch his show a few times a week and really don't notice to much bias one way or another. Lots of times he has people on his show that represent both sides. That seems pretty fair to me, as long as both sides are their I'd call that balanced.

He does attack the far left a lot though, I suspect a lot of those attacks come from them.

If you compare him to say John Stewarts show then you can see the difference. Although the daily show is funny as can be! The Daily show has a somewhat of a left tilt, but they do make fun of a lot of people on the left as well.

All these guys are haters. The right slant shows are geared toward getting the right to hate the left. The left slant shows have the opposite goal. How about the shows that are about mending fences and bringing people together? Oh yeah, there aren't any, cause they'd be boring as hell, right? The shows that hold an audience promote derision and divisiveness. I'll be honest -- I haven't seen an iota of O'Reilly in quite a while, but I recall that his shows seemed to be largely about what he doesn't, rather than does like.

The right/left thing is way too simplistic.

To some people I'm far right because of my ardent support for deposing Saddam. But then, I'm not enamoured of Bush & co's ineptitude and vacillation.

To some I'm far left because I believe in equal rights for all, regardless of gender pref, too.

To some I'm far right because of my ardent belief in free trade.

To some I'm far left because of my support of abortion on demand.

To some I'm far left because of my (admittedly tepid) support of Affirmative Action.

To some I'm far left because I believe that public education is absolutely and fundamentally necessary to instill a common love of democracy and freedom in our children. I do not trust elitist schools and religious schools to do that.

To some I'm far right because of my disdain for SSI and Medicare.

To some I'm far left because of my dislike and distrust of monopolies and perpetual trusts.

etc.

I'm betting most of us are like that, tracing the path of a drunken snake between and among issues.

I don't even watch CBS.
I watch ABC, but that's because LOST is on ABC. That's about it...I watch CNN news sometimes, are they a left leaning bunch of liars?

I am a big fan of Bill Maher though.

WTF are you saying? You think I really care that much what american news networks do?? I don't even watch that. However, I've watched the factor numerous times, and anyone can tell that show is clearly biased. I just want you to admit that.

Hard to compare to Jon Stewart, his show is on the COMEDY network. Unless you want to consider O'Reilly a comedian.

CNN is almost as bad as CBS.....and thats pretty bad...all you had to do is sit back and watch them parrot NYT , the Post, CBS and NPR.....They don't have the common nickname Clinton News Network for nothing.

The New DNC moto " Why let the facts get in the way of a story"
Spending time on the river "DENIAL" again, eh? First of all, I don't argue that Rathergate was true, merely that it dovetailed with a lot of known information and so made the temptation to run with the story too great for the opportunists (part of the job description) who produce 60 Minutes' stories.

The facts are this doctor: Bill O thinks that people who call into his show, which solicits callers expressing opinions, had better toe the line of his code of conduct else be subject to legal action and or thugs "paying them a visit." The guy who prompted Bill's tipping his hand as to the true level of his meglomania called into to say he appreciated Keith Olbermann's show and disagreed with Bill's campaign to get KO fired.

So tell me, what facts are the DNC folks ignoring here?

Good show, just because you don't agree with a point of view don't be little it. Besides you liberals have NPR.
Bill O is not a complete idiot, just a complete *********.

In what way was the caller a jerk? He likes Olbermann's show as do I. Bill O is upset cause KO frequently taps him as "The Worst Person in the World" in his nightly lineup of examples of behavior that KO and crew find unsavory. What, Bill O doesn't call people on behavior HE disapproves of?

So Bill mounts his campaign to get KO fired. The caller wished to express a dissenting opinon. For this "FOX Security" (!?!) is going to pay him a visit??!??

The voice of reason. I absolutely agree. Lining up on one somewhat imaginary side or the other and heaving brickbats at the other side is not the same thing as rational thought.

What, a news hound like you asking this question absent tongue in cheek??

Assuming it's a serious question, Keith Olbermann is a former FOX employee, sports, I believe, who has had a show on cable news channel MSNBC for close to 3 years now. I just learned the last tidbit from watching a video of Olbermann's first response to the story. Available at:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/03/03.html#a7384

It contains Bill O's ominous threat that the caller he disapproved of would be receiving a visit from "FOX Security" because as Bill stated, "we have your number." (de-de-de-de...[Twilight Zone theme song])

I like Olbermann's show "Countdown with KO." He's got a bit of the charm and humor of Jon Stewart but is more sober and has a bunch of serious news as well. Something tells me the guy's news career has got legs.

I happened to see his show Thurs. night (3-9, after the one linked above) and he included a bit from Al Franken's radio show about the few, the proud, who make it onto FOX SECURITY.

Dude, for about the gazillionth time, you watch way more Foxnews, CNN, PBS, (insert initials here), etc... than do I. It's essentially the same thing, regardless of the intials.
