Thursday night was an AMAZING show in DC - Gogol Bordello at the 9:30 club. These guys put on the most energetic, powerful, constant movement shows I've ever seen. Follow up by going to an after party at an Ethiopian restaurant across the street. Most of the band came in, and I got to dance with one of the ladies (Elizabeth). Without question the hardest, most athletic body I've ever laid hands on. Good food, great friends (Darling Wife, Chickie & Louis, and a couple we met at show).

Friday was a NYE party at Jennifer's vintage store in town. Crazy good fun, bestest Sangria ever, lots of hugs and kisses and hollerin' at midnight, followed by lots of drunk dialing everybody we could think of :P. Stumbled our way the half mile walk back to Chickie & Louis by interlocking our arms and concentrating really, really hard. Well, as hard as we were capable of doing at four something in the seriously alcohol fueled morning.

Slept til 9-ish, ran home to feed the zoo, then off to Paul & Jim's for foods and coffee and much yakking with newly made friends. Love this town!

Alrighty - an opportunity to get a taste of the wonderful insanity that is a Gogol Bordello show:

Live webcast of their show in New York.

Starts tonight at 9:00 PM EST.

Enjoy!

Just catching up on what transpired yesterday...the announcement of the 3 Amigos for Moderators...Congrats/Condolences to all!

Payday (Boy, am I messed up...I thought it was last week or next week...) today...

And trying to find a few more Packer/Eagle boards to get on...before Sunday. Barhopping for profit. Can't even imagine the outcome of that!

Oh well, better than drinking it and forgetting what the night before was... ;)

FRIDAY!

The best thing about Friday, is it's only three days until I can start making money working on Monday again!!

It's the usual weekend kids' BB schedule for me.

A whopping 2-5" of snow forecast for today, there are actually schools in the state that have already closed (ours not included) and a number that are closing early before the first flake even flew. We had an unrelated string of flurries pass through and white things up, the rest of the system hasn't gotten here yet.

OTOH that 2-5" OF SNOW will get me four hundred bucks of play money with little wear & tear on my Jeep, snowblower and body. Not too bad for a few hours of work.

That's sounds like a BLAST!

Boys are getting haircuts tomorrow morning, followed by a trip to the Atlanta Children's Museum - thanks for the annual passes Santa!

After the sitter gets to our place, we're trying a new place to eat (new to me at least):

What I wouldn't give to have $6200 fundage available right now.....

Paul, our friendly next house down the road neighbor who plowed our drive for free multiple times in the past two years, told Darling Wife yesterday that he's selling his plow truck - the constant twisting to look behind him is aggravating a back problem. Would LOVE to pick up the truck (as a truck and as a plow), love to be able to plow the neighbor's drives for free and make a few bucks on everybody else.....

No clue what this weekend holds. Tonight we'll probably head down to Joanie's with Ed (who's knee is better enough that he can climb a few stairs, and has a cardiac surgeon appointment on the 24th - beginning to feel like he just might consent to the quintuple bypass!!!).

Riiight! In the 7.4 seconds of "free time" YOU have each week, you'll pop out and plow snow!:P

I used to actually enjoy it, now it's getting a little old. Probably my last year of plow-for-pay. I'll just get down to family and a couple elderly neighbors.

Haircut aside, your scenario sounds better! :)

How much use would you get out the truck the rest of the year? Up here, you can get a decent, non-rot bucket, road-worthy plow truck for a few grand. I'm thinking that after this season, I'm going to sell my Jeep and buy one of those aforementioned trucks (preferably for a little less money with a rotten bed) and throw a flatbed on it for all season duty.

I'd rather play in the snow with my kids now than spend those hours working in it. Hopefully next year I'll be down to just the few family houses and my two elderly neighbors and by then my oldest can operate my big snowblower and the shovel. :)

Paul's truck is newer and in excellent shape - would put the rest of our fleet to shame :P. No doubt it is worth something like his asking price. And right now, a couple grand for a non-essential purchase is no more likely than six grand, so is all just idle chatter. If there were dollars available to add a truck to the fleet, I've no doubt we'd use the hell out of it, doing the hauling that we're currently using the wagon and the occasional miata to do.

Like this past Wednesday night when I drove Ed, part of his arsenal, $800 in twenties found squirreled away in one of Ma's purses buried in a box in a trash bag under a layer of old newspapers, a $25 antique drop leaf table that Chickie plucked off craigs list, and two hawt red heads rolling about in the back of the wagon 'cuz we had to put both sides of the back seat down to get the table in. Oh - and with a busted up windshield on the wagon (hit by a falling tree branch while I was driving Tuesday evening ).

The entire ride home was filled with much laughter and silliness as we tried to come up with the best possible explanation for the nice officer we were sure was gonna pull us over before we could make all the necessary stops on the way home :D.

I can so relate. :o

That must have been quite the sight to see! :D

Yaaay! Fri-dee! The sky looks like snow out my office window in Tyson's Corner. If it snows, rains or is too cold to work outside this weekend, maybe I'll start gathering up all of my tax-related stuff and then go back downtown to cruise the art museums again this weekend.
If I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I might even get my surround sound manuals out and see if I can learn how to finally program all of that stuff.
