Ferrrrrrridayyyyyyyyyyy!
Doin' some DIYing around the old hacienda Saturday. Installing my newly-delivered, super high-efficiency $1,300+ GE Geo-Spring Hybrid heatpump 50 Gal. electric water heater. I love the sound of saving money in it's efficiency - gets me giddy! :D :) |

working on a Death By Chocolate trifle and some caramel brownies for Power Pig's BBQ Fest this weekend....

Printed off my W-2's and all the LES's from my recent mobilization, went to the library-found I was a half hour past closing time, took the '83 for a joy ride around town. Now I'm going out for karaoke.

Oh boy, the sun was shining just now. Maybe it will come out and stay for the next couple of days. That would be a treat. I'm hoping to get up in the morning and get focused on finishing my outdoor kitchen project so I can start cooking on that fabulous new Jenn Air grill I bought from Powerpig.
Then, I plan to start in on that Murphy bed I keep blathering about so I can start having guests again. I'm hoping it will be pretty fun to build. Mostly, I'm hoping that the damned thing actually works once I'm finished building it. Have a wonderful weekend everybody. |

Final push for bodywork on my C55. :)
Need to list the SL for sale on here... :( |
Snow (albeit miniscule amounts) on the ground this morning. Talk about a great April Fool's joke.
I'm bailing out early today and headed to Manchester, NH (where they had measurable snowfall) for son #1's New England Region CYO basketball tournament tomorrow. His undersized, scrappy team have made it to the New England 7th & 8th Grade Elite 8! Think VCU or Butler in the NCAA's. :) They have a realistic chance at winning their first game. After that? Who knows. The other teams in the tourney are rumored to be about H.S. Freshman-sized and talented. However, our kids have now beaten 3 bigger, faster, "more talented" teams to get to this point. They just seem to swarm and annoy and take the other team off their game. They aren't fast but they are quick. If they win tomorrow morning, they play at 2:15 tomorrow afternoon with the Finals being on Sunday at 2:30. Does it make be a bad dad to hope they win one and lose the second? :o Much of that is due to by daughter's AAU basketball team playing in their first tourney this weekend (all of their games are weekend tournies with 2 games Saturday and 2 on Sunday) and I feel awful about potentially missing her first 4 games. She's staying with friends tonight and tomorrow night and is fine with us not being there, but I'd really like to make her games on Sunday. Heck, if my son's team lost their first game tomorrow, I'd probably lean towards hauling arse back here for her afternoon game. |

Ahh, Friday - so glad you've finally made it.
Between getting a busted up tooth jackhammered outta me head and missing Ma (one year ago today we lost her) - haven't slept for crap the past few nights. Darling Wife missing Ma (leading to her grinding her teeth at night, waking me up) hasn't helped in the sleep department. Off to the creek tonight to do up a little memorial to Ma, will likely include a boat, flaming arrows, an action figure, and purple hair dye. Counting on the inattention and/or kind hearted nature of the town Constables to a certain extent :P. Weekend needs to include some grass cuttin' assuming things dry out a bit. Also gotta pick up the theoretically no longer smokin' Gretel wagon (how many tries do the awesome guys at the tranny shop get to keep the red fluid INSIDE the tranny and off the cat? As many as they need, so long as they keep trying for free!). Ed's been green-lighted to drive, so we'll probably be making a run at his red sled (which has developed the ugly trait of giving only about half the turns to the right she's supposed to before hitting a hard stop). Haven't done much suspension/steering gear box work in me days, guess it's time to figure out how all those pieces are supposed to work. |

Looks like I'll be in Madison tonight for some concert...don't know the bands, but probably some head-banger spring-fling thing or other...
Then...drive home, sack out for a few hours, then up and over to a local HS for some station promotion of the new FOX show, "X FACTOR" - 106 different acts with various degress of (if I may be so inclined to use the word...) "talent" from within. Then Sunday...wake up to the wonderful smell of a 1# Bacon Muffin. Yummy! Then...I die happy... :D |

The Mrs. and I are escaping for the evening! For Christmas, I bought her two tickets to the Billy Currington/Uncle Kracker/Kenny Chesney concert at the Mohegan Sun (and she chose to go with me :)). Todd England and Bobby Flay have a couple of restaurants there, to go along with the other 147 different dining choices. Too many choices! Do we go casual or fine? Bobby Flay's burger joint has some of the best burgers I've ever had. Jasper White's Summer Shack has great seafood. Todd English's Tuscany for fine Italian. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville would be a good lead into the Kenny Chesney summer/beach/boat/relaxing in the sun vibe. What's a guy to do? We might just have to flip a coin. :D |
Bobby Flay's has the best burgers.. shame...... shame my friend.. We all know Ted's is probably the best (and then blackies for hot dogs)
:D I've been up since 3:30 am thanks to the awesome cabriolet anti theft alarm. |
