Word!

I was hoping to catch the races and fireworks tonight at one of our local tracks' Summer Blastoff, but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate. The plan was to take the kids (all under 14 = Free!) and give the Mrs. a night with a book and a bottle of wine. Oh well. She'll have to enjoy our presence. :D

Tomorrow, son #2 has his end of season Fun Day at the Giamatti Little League Complex in Bristol, CT (where the Little League Eastern Regional playoff games are played). They play a couple two inning baseball games and spend the rest of the time playing games, going on rides, visiting the petting zoo, eating. All on the sponsors' generosity. Lots of fun stuff for the kids to do. It's a statewide event with kids from Challenger League teams from all over. He loves it and my daughter usually comes along to help out so I can take a more leisurely pace while they race all over. :)

For Father's Day, we're having my parents and FIL over for a cookout, beers and maybe the pool if the weather cooperates. Traditionally we've headed to one of our local German joints for late lunch and liters of beer but frankly, dropping a several hundred on a meal probably isn't in our best interest right now. Kinda sad since I do look forward to it every year but we'll make do and the company will be the same.

I'll probably do some more cleaning of my Jeep to get it spiffy enough to sell. I did a major hosing off but haven't cleaned the carpets and seats yet. I think I've procrastinated so long on it because I don't really want to sell it even though I know I should.

Next week is the last week of school for my kids and my wife is overly-involved with each of their classes so she's going crazy trying to make sure all of the end-of-year events are ready to go. Add that to the fact that I'll be off to AZ on business Wed-Fri and you'll understand the book and bottle of wine part from the first paragraph. :)

Will be checking up on my repair of a flow-gauge in our Main transmitter yesterday...(I f#@!ing hate pink glycol!!!!!!!), readjusting some voltages/power settings, then head south to La Crosse to see how the SLC is going in the repair dept..

Then, check out the La Crosse transmitter and see how it's settings have settled down since the work on that back on Monday/Tuesday...

Hoping to have the SLC back by Tuesday....

It's Friday again already. What do you have planned? I'm not planning a damned thing, but I love that feeling of knowing there are two days ahead of me that I can do whatever the hell I feel like. I LOVE Friday afternoons. Don't you?

Two months ago the SLC went into the shop for the dent/once-over...I've seen it twice...and it's still not done.

Summer's almost over... :(

Got a Scotsman coming to dinner/bar-b-que tomorrow. And Darling Wife is shopping for overnight deliverable inflatable sheep online. The two are connected.

I FINALLY got my Jeep ready for sale. It goes on CL and onto the front yard later today. Initially it was going to subsidize something larger to haul the whole family. But now it's looking like it might just be subsidizing day-to-day living as the financial reality a family of 6 on one income in this day and age is really rearing its head.

Maybe I'll put some money into my TD to get it to DD status and not looking quite so shabby.

Other than that, our local Down syndrome organization has its big annual picnic at the beach at Camp Harkness on Saturday. Food, icecream, games, live band right on the beach on Long Island sound and you can't beat FREE! :)

Sunday we're having a combination birthday party for son #3 and Step-Up party for my DD (moving to the middle school next year). The reality is it was a good excuse to get together with some friends and family we haven't seen in quite awhile. We'll grill some critters, drink some beers around a fire on the patio and sit back and relax while the kids invade the WTPP (White Trash Poverty Pool) and run amok in the back yard.

I've got next week off. We'll probably spend a day or two at the beach at the aforementioned Camp Harkness. I've got a crap-load of yardwork to catch up on. I might even drag the boat out and get it cleaned up so I can throw a for sale sign on it. Mainly due to lack of time and partially due to insufficient funds, it hasn't seen the water in two years now and is too small for all of us anyway.

I just parted with my XJ. I miss it already, but I just didn't need the added costs of insurance, tags, fuel, etc... Such is life, eh? I can spend a few bucks on the new Subaru now, though.

Enjoy that picnic with your boy, my friend!

Me? Drive the WRX a bit to see if the exhaust work I did remains leak-free, maybe hit a garage sale or two, and spend some time with the girls (wife and baby daughter). I'm sure I'll be summoned to help relocate my record collection onto some new shelving units my lovely wife bought, too.

Happy weekend, all!

Thanks, cscmc1. Will do! And enjoy that time with your little one. It really does fly by (although until I went through it myself, that advice went in one ear and out the other). :)

I'm going to miss the Wrangler, just can't justify it right now.
