I'm heading South to visit my mother and sister this afternoon. I haven't seen them for a while, so this should be a nice weekend. It'll be nice to get out of town for a couple of days.

Hope everybody else has a nice weekend.

Talking *** Once every-four-years enjoyment... ***

Spent yesterday with 2 surveyors (they showed up unexceptedly after I inadvertantly sent a "preliminary" map to their office (note: CHECK your headers before hitting "send")) tromping around in the semi-crusted snow locating anchor points and the "pending" new tower's base placements.

New fangled radios were about a usefull as the hind tits on a sow...believe it or not, they worked fine on one side of a row of pine trees, and sucked on the other side...that tells me they were being effected by stray RF from the antenna farm we have on top of the hill. But, we managed to get the latitudes and longitudes of all the points and the elevation (only) of the tower's base location. That was the golden nugget for the day.

Now, today, I'm waiting for the official document to be .pdf'd to me so I can turn it over to the pack of attorneys waiting to go to the FAA and FCC and get the project flowing again...(a month of glacial movement in the hilly countryside we call government )

Hey...BTW...how many on OD here are celebrating 1/4 of their birthdays, today?

I'm this many! IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.1/2!

Have a good weekend, Dee.

I'm just happy the first week of the short-handed silly season is about over with. I still haven't had much luck with getting people to take their deliveries early. Next week should be insane.

My brother, father and I had to have our picture taken for a CT Grown/Dept. of Ag. advertising banner along with the cow $h!t pot guy who was on Dirty Jobs. I hope the glare off my head doesn't wash out the pic!

Thanks, Swamp, You, too.

I saw that guy on Dirty jobs. That was pretty cool. I'm glad I don't live next door to his "pond!"

I thought you just bought a place, or were looking to refinance your mortgage through Howie.

Cool *** Shoulda' stayed in bed...except for... ***

The .pdf arrived...AF'dU...

The radios were off enough (due to Intermod-Interference) that even the KNOWN elevation wasn't jiving with the readings...so the survey crew is scheduled for Monday w/the ol' fashioned gear...pointed/painted sticks and transits...and A LOT OF LEG-WORK...

Then, my new set of digital microwaves decided to start acting up...contacted the factory (warranty work...don't touch unless you want to VOID the warranty) and they're trying to figure out if/when/how to get the "loaners" to me before Sunday morning...I SMELL a trip to Mpls/St.Paul today...YEP! I'm heading to the great NW!

The good part? Figuring that I can't do too much more, I head down river to Marquette, IA., played that little game involving a small ball and round table...came away with $400.00 more than I started with...

I need more of that and less of the other chit...

Then the calls started rolling in...more problems w/the transmitters in La Crosse...cashed in my winnin's and headed north to lalaland...

See ya' all at the Mpls/St.Paul areodrome...I'm the one that looks like I don't give a chit...and very little hair...

It's here again already, wow! I'm trying to get my taxes done, office organized better, basement cleaned out, blah, blah, blah, . . . .

Hopefully, there'll be a little time for fun in there somewhere. New workout routine is going well. Maybe I'll try to get on the road again and start running. I'm determined to beat back the effects of aging . . . . Hope all of you have a terrific weekend!

I e-filed yesterday, should be getting a decent chunk back despite my best efforts to break even. Our 10+ yo clothes dryer and vacuum crapped out 2 weeks ago and I've been holding out until that money gets deposited before replacing them (Wed. is free dryer night at the laundromat ). I think we'll buy one of those big-a$$ energy saver dryers given the amount of laundry we do. The wife has her eyes on a Dyson vacuum (my SIL has one and loves it), another appliance that works overtime with all of the pets and kids. Hot water heater is getting finicky of late, too, after 14 years so I'm preparing for that inevitable day. It's spent already before it arrives and I get nothing fun out of it. Although Patriots ticket renewals are due within the month so I'll get something.

Week 2 of being undermanned is almost over. It's Friday, the countdown to pizza and beer continues. T-minus 6 hours and counting...

Hey gang! Fridays are great.

The microwave radios and surveyers are out of my hair...now a "little" relaxation time...

Finish out the paperwork, check that the "auto-deposit" actually did "deposit" and then, in a few hours, it's up to Eau Claire for two fun-filled nights of security work at the "Wisconsin Rumble" or whatever the name of the event is...a bunch of "bubbas" punching each other out in the downtown Civics Center (sorta' "Oxy-Moronic" in its own way, don't cha' think?) ...

It ain't oxygen, but it sure looks like fun!

Glad I'm too short to participate!

The only thing worse than letting them use your money, interest-free, for a year is having to pay. That sucks.

The reason I was so far off this year is I only worked 1/2 year as a PT contract carrier (no payroll deduction) and historically I tried to cover the taxes for that with my day job's check.

My brother is sucking wind, he and a partner sold a 2 family property and he's on the hook for $30K for his share.
