For added "realism" - add reflectors to both sides of the cardboard that mimick the sidemarkers on your local LEO's vehicles.

At nighttime, you'll see EVERYONE hit the brakes to slow down well before they get up to the reflectors! They'll never know if it's fake or real.

Or some scantily clad, shapely women dancing at the end of the driveway...

Maybe inquire at the local exotic dancing school if there are some students looking for an internship...

Actually, there is an adult book store up the street on the way to the mall. I have found porn fliers blowing around in my yard multiple times. I have no desire to increase "perv" traffic.

I have also found baggies with drugs and paraphernalia in my front yard 3 times. I guess my yard is a good ditch spot for addicts trying to escape the law. BTW, I picked up the baggies with sticks and deposited them in the trash bin ASAP.

I believe the new solid board fence will decrease the amount trash that ends up in my yard due to vehicle drafts pulling it up the road from the "masterbation supply store".

Yikes! Definitely stuff you don't want the kiddos coming across. I'd think that fence would do the trick at cutting down on that crap.

Our town is just south of Hartford and I'm not far from the Motor Vehicle Dept in the northern section of town. A lot of city-folk like to use our playground up the street, I don't blame them for that, and the DMV gets a lot of traffic in from there as well. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to hit the trash and recycle cans but apparently it is more than could be asked. Those two areas stand out because the rest of the recreation areas used by the townies are comparatively sparkling. It's almost as though a trash bomb hits those two areas on a weekly basis between cleanups.

Great fence,really neat job.

A thought strikes me...very rigid and controlling with permits and such...yet a porn shop up the street.

I'd stake the place out and see if any zoning, building, code compliance guys patronise said store.Bet'cha they head right for the "buddy booths".

It's amazing how children can focus you on the present like nothing else. I miss that. Mine are at the age where they're preparing me for when they're gone by being a pain in the butt most of the time. It was fun back when they were little, though. I miss that.

Going to take a nice three day weekend away from here, air out my brain some, and hang out with my favorite people in the world. Should be pretty nice!

With fuel prices the way they are, I'm staying off the road and delving into the "backyard rehab" project. So far, it's been painting and stuff, and eventually, getting fill dirt, sod, ground cover and weed control.

Here is the weathered playground set and side fence, and overgrown foliage in the background...

Here is the current state of affairs. Playset restored to its former glory as well as the side fence. Shrubbery sort of in check too. Wrought iron fencing and gate has been repainted, but not in the view of these pics. Playground perimeter is in dire need of overhaul...

Actually, it's going to be listed on Craigslist soon. Teenage daughter doesn't even look at the set these days. Might put the space to better use...like a gazebo/sitting area kind of project....or maybe a POOL!

If it were me I'd wall it up, drywall it, put a door on it, wire it and put in a video system and a window AC unit and use it as my hideout. Actually, if it were me I'd do nothing and it would gradually rot into the ground but you catch my drift.

Looks good.

That yard reeks of “cool parent toyage”. Good job there, as well.
