What do you do out there, exactly?

Just curious...

MTI 06-21-2008 03:43 AM

No excitement, it was a PT Cruiser today, not even the turbo. :P

Mistress 06-21-2008 07:52 AM

I know it's Saturday but I spent Friday with mom who came in from out of town.

iwrock 06-23-2008 01:34 PM

I know its now late, but the weekend is over, and I am back at work....

The camping trip was awesome. We did tons of stuff, from fishing, to panning for gold. We did a pretty good deal of wheeling, and drive about a third of the Rubicon Trail.

I got a couple of pictures on the Whackberry, so give me time, and I will somehow figure out how to get my whackberry to sync with my mac.... (the pictures will be in a different thread though.)

We've got (or are expecting) about 60,000 bikers in La Crosse this weekend for the S&S 50th Aniversary Celebration.

S&S sent out 50 of their engines to custom bike builders around the country to have them come up with a radical bike-build around said engine...

All this week we've been having tractor-trailer rigs and such coming into town to set up and display the wares...motel/hotels are booked solid for over 75 miles around town...even more...

It's already been a LOUD two days with barely-muffled bikes and the town and surrounding area is expecting SOLID BIKES FOR ANOTHER THREE DAYS.

The town has even planned on restricting car/truck traffic in the downtown area this weekend...bikes only.

Sturgis, without the corrals...????

I've got to be at the South-Side Fest Grounds (Oktoberfest Grounds) in a few hours to meet w/the Media Coordinator and be sure we don't have out-of-market media coming in and disrupting local broadcasters.

If some of you folks up in Mpls./St. Paul, Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago want, get yourself a camper and a bike, trailer it in and come into town for an entertaining inaugural event for our area.

PM me if you're coming...it will be an impromptu GTG on the Mississippi River or as we call it around here...The Seven Rivers Region...

I ALWAYS have to look up what those 7 Rivers are!  :D

Meeting an old friend for the first time on Sunday.

Mistress 06-27-2008 08:34 AM

Today I get to go pick up the hard top for the SL with brand new seals on it woohooooo. Tomorrow I'm going to check out a new flying school and hopefully these guys maintain their planes.

Dee8go 06-27-2008 09:26 AM

You check those airplanes out carefully, Mistress. We want you waking up on this side of the grass for many years to come.

I smell an Orange County Chopper episode. :D (Talk about a genious when it comes to marketing. Paul Sr. is not quite to Gene Simmons level, but definitely up there).

We were wondering about that. Thanks for the up-date.

I've got three real estate flights in the 407 booked for today. Good thing is, it's city devlopement and not land killers.

Got that flight comp figured out by now I'd guess. Hope you can get some use of it. Pretty cool toy, either way.

Cheers -
Shelby

Back in the sixties on TV, it was Sky King. Today in the oughts, it'll be Sky Queen . . . .

iwrock 06-27-2008 02:11 PM

This weekend....

I am more than likely gonna hang out at a friends house, then go car shopping with another friend....

AdvisorGuy 06-27-2008 02:33 PM

Gonna leave the 126 here and drive an S8 or TT Roadster home...

SwampYankee 06-27-2008 03:02 PM

Tonight, nothing!! Although we might go down to the club to pester my parents now that they've got their boat up river for awhile.

Tomorrow we've got our WCYC's 100th Anniversary Commisioning Party, pretty much a catered, DJ'd, all-day drinking affair. I'm close enough to walk home so there's a good chance... Supposedly have the Gov. and some local politicos coming for an award ceremony then, if they're smart, they'll cut and run.:D

We usually get 110 or so at the yearly one, I think 200+ people have RSVP'd. Chance of thundershowers all day so it could get exciting! :(

mgburg 06-28-2008 05:05 AM

Around 1500 yesterday afternoon, we got hit with 1.5" of rain in about a half hour - it just came down HARD AND HARDER STILL...

There were semi-tractors at the fest grounds that had water standing up to the hubs...

Word came down that the bikes that had been parked side-by-side along Front Street got knocked over like dominoes when the water rushing down the street started pushing on the rear tires ... I haven't heard how many bikes were involved but I can darn near guess there was a LOT of hard drinking in the bars this past evening... ;)

We've had OCC and a few other notables in town and on the tube...so if you folks are still in the mood for some fancy bikes and the shows that go with it...head on into La Crosse and enjoy the life...

BTW, the town did shut down the downtown between La Crosse Street and Jay Street to bikes only...and it will be the SOP from 6p-6a for Saturday night and into Sunday too.

Again, PM me if you need any directions...

Have a drier weekend and don't forget the folks to our South...Capt. and Tennile probably aren't their favorite entertainers at this particular time..."Muskrat Love" on a levee isn't the best thing that's happened to them in a while...
