With that great stereo install you did the deck project could have surround sound......I'm doin the visual.

A comedian I heard recently was bemoaning the loss of "the front porch." He said families used to sit on the front porch and spend time talking to each other and their neighbors. Now we all sit of the deck and don't interact as much. He said if Opie Taylor had had a deck rather than a front porch he'd probably be on drugs now . . .

I already have patio speakers hooked up outside (in anticipation of the aforementioned deck)...but I suck in the wood-and-concrete department!

Porch sittin' and visitin are still quite popular in the south. I have the stero-typical front porch with blade fans, high back wood rockers and the neighbors do walk around and visit before dusk. I don't drink sweet tea though - but it does look like sweet tea.

I'll just bet you have mint growing in the back yard for those julips. What a nice house with cars.

Hopefully that was a typo and you're actually drinking something like a L.I. iced tea.:D

I love your house BTW ... especially with your fleet out front echoing those groovy dormers.

I mowed my grass yesterday and forgot to use a dust mask. Now I'm paying for it today with a POUNDING sinus headache.:(

What a great weekend. Yorktown was pretty cool. Yorktown Pub was a fine place to get together with old friends and hoist a few. The forum is much fun, but there's nothing like getting together with folks in person.

I'd stay away from that Yorktown, and particularly that den of iniquity, Yorktown Pub. They say there's nothing but strange old men in flashy red Eyetalian cars and shoeless preppies meandering about, stirring up trouble and what not. I'd stay away, I tells ya:D

For the second time this week, back to the San Francisco area to be away from the smoke, ash, od the California wildfires, and dark sky to the beautiful weather there, and another different woman to hang out with from the weekend.

This one is flying in from her real estate stuff and her 2008 ML350 in Palm Springs to see me, and we will do San Francisco touring for a couple of days.

It is a 300 mile trip down, but could be worth it. I will take the new Subaru, because I just rigged up the stereo in it to play all my old cassettes from Peru on it, which I have not heard for 6-7 years.

LOTS of fun times loom ahead for me.

Then back here to water the garden and collect mail and newspapers on the driveway, and back again, to the SF area, to get the AMG headers on the SEC, and different dates again with 2 more women, I have to remember to keep names straight, that could be important at times.

Thankful and happy!

After a sleepless night last night I've got an intense, stress-filled day today. Happy hour will not be here soon enough. When it does finally arrive, I'll be enjoying it with some friends in Georgetown. Woohoo!

I hope everybody else has a terrific day today. It's good to be alive!

No matter what else happens, I'm glad to be alive, healthy, employed, the father of terrific kids (yeah, even that one who changed his damned name), and free to come and go as I please. Everything else will work out okay, too, I'm sure.

Have a great weekend all.

Our first (you guessed it) soccer tournament for the season this weekend! Get to test out the newly signed players...injuries sidelined a few of our best players, but it shouldn't dramatically affect the overall team performance.

If everything else goes well, we are looking to take this one! :D

Sunburnt my face and head this past Monday...so today is "Peeling Day" - I almost look like Freddy Krueger - only more scary and shorter finger nails... ;)

Anyways...our tower project is moving along despite the few INTENSE rain "showers" (2" in a 1/2 hour...two days in a row!) and some "brief" flooding in the front of my transmitter building in La Crescent, MN....

I've got to go out and get another case of beer for the neighbor...he's taking care of the lawn while I'm out "Stupid-vising" these projects...thank God for boredom on his part!

Hey! Have a safe and enjoyable weekend all!

Remember...drive safely...nobody else does! :D

Pete Geither 07-18-2008 12:58 PM

Sweetie Pie is going antiquing this weekend, so I will have some time for some serious male bonding, beer drinking, quad riding, beer drinking, and sitting on the deck drinking,,, you guessed it,,, beer.:D
